Didi Gregorius was diagnosed with a right temple contusion and is considered day-to-day.
Gregorius was removed from Friday's game against the Rockies after he was hit in the helmet by a fastball from Josh Outman. He'll be examined further over the next few days to be on the safe side, but it sounds like he avoided a serious injury.

Didi Gregorius was removed from Friday's game against the Rockies after being hit in the helmet by a fastball from Josh Outman.
Gregorius remained on the ground for a couple of minutes after taking the fastball off his helmet, but eventually got up and was able to walk off the field under his own power. The team is likely to play it very safe with a head injury, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Gregorius miss a couple of games.

Didi Gregorius wasn't in the lineup Thursday, but Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said the shortstop has "felt nothing in that elbow at all."
The D'Backs have given Gregorius a couple days off as they ease him back into things following a UCL sprain, but his red-hot start has probably resulted in him playing more than they originally intended. "He's felt nothing in that elbow at all, but we do feel recovery days are important for everybody and certainly for a guy coming off an injury like that," Gibson said.

Didi Gregorius went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the Giants.
Gregorius also struck out a couple times, but he was the only D'Back to record more than one base knock. The youngster has been red-hot since last week's call-up, batting .400 with two homers and four doubles over his first 27 plate appearances. The league will figure him out eventually, but he can be used in all fantasy formats while he's hot.

Didi Gregorius went 2-for-4 with a home run in Sunday's win over the Rockies.
Gregorius has two home runs and a 1.765 OPS in his first three games since returning from the disabled list. The Diamondbacks are saying that they don't want to use him as an everyday player right away, but it's looking like its only a matter of time before he takes over as the starting shortstop. Gregorius should be on your radar in deeper mixed leagues.

Didi Gregorius homered on the first pitch he saw as a Diamondback and also added a double in his next at-bat in Thursday's win over the Yankees.
Phil Hughes left a fastball out over the middle of the plate, and Gregorius lined it into the short porch in right field. The young infielder was retired in his final three at-bats, two via strikeout, but that hardly puts a damper on an impressive 2013 debut. We're skeptical of Gregorius' ability to hit right away (he's batted just .267/.319/.375 in the minors), but he's worth a gamble in fantasy leagues to see if he can get off to a nice start.

Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers indicated Tuesday that Didi Gregorius will not be an everyday player right away.
Gregorius was forced to begin the season on the disabled list due to a UCL sprain in his right elbow, so the Diamondbacks are still being cautious about his workload. However, his return gives the Diamondbacks the option to use Cliff Pennington at second base while Aaron Hill is sidelined with a broken hand. Martin Prado started at second base Tuesday night while Eric Chavez played the hot corner, so Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson has many options at his disposal.

Diamondbacks activated INF Didi Gregorius from the 15-day disabled list.
Gregorius replaces the injured Aaron Hill (hand) on the active roster. The 23-year-old was forced to begin the year on the DL with a UCL sprain, but he batted .387 (12-for-31) with two homers, two doubles and a stolen base over seven rehab games with Triple-A Reno. He could potentially take over as the starting shortstop while Cliff Pennington could fill in for Hill at second base.

Didi Gregorius (elbow) is batting .423 in 26 at-bats during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno.
Gregorius had been limited to designated hitter duty, but he's making his season debut at shortstop on Monday. If Aaron Hill (wrist) has to go on the disabled list, Gregorius is an option to replace him. The D'Backs would likely make him the starting shortstop and move Cliff Pennington over to second base.

Didi Gregorius (elbow) will only pinch-hit and be used as a designated hitter initially when he begins a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Thursday.
The D'Backs hope by April 15 he'll be able to play defense. Gregorius, who is dealing with a UCL sprain in his right elbow, will be assigned to Reno when he's healthy. However, he's a good bet to take over for Cliff Pennington at some point during the first half.
