Dennys Reyes told Fernando Ballesteros of Puro Beisbol that he's still planning to pitch for the Orioles this season despite getting released this weekend.
Reyes suffered a torn tendon in his left middle finger while pitching in the Mexican Winter League and is still undergoing therapy. "They had to release me because they couldn't pay my contract with me being here (in Mexico)," Reyes said. "If they hadn't released me, I could have complained to the Player's Union in order to get them to pay me. Unofficially, I still belong to them."

Orioles released LHP Dennys Reyes.
Reyes had yet to report to Orioles camp due to visa issues, and the team evidently didn't want to wait for him any longer. The veteran left-hander will try to catch on with another organization once he makes it to the states.

Dennys Reyes and Ronny Paulino are both dealing with visa issues and have not yet reported to Orioles camp.
Both were signed to minor league deals this offseason that included invites to spring training. Once they get to camp, Reyes has an outside chance to make the club as a left-handed specialist, while Paulino will have to have a huge spring to win the backup catcher job.

According to Ben Nicholson-Smith of MLB Trade Rumors, the Orioles will sign left-hander Dennys Reyes to a minor league contract.
It's not clear if he'll get a spring training invite. Reyes made four relief appearances with the Red Sox before being designated for assignment last April and didn't throw another pitch after being placed on the restricted list in May. The 34-year-old left-hander has a 4.21 ERA over 15 major-league seasons.
