Lough has an improved chance of winning a roster spot with Aaron Altherr set to miss 4-to-6 months with a wrist injury, the PhillyVoice reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lough is in camp as a non-roster invitee. He hit just .201/.241/.313 with four home runs in 134 at-bats with the Orioles last season. He is competing with Tyler Goeddel, Cody Asche, Darnell Sweeney and Cedric Hunter for at-bats.

Lough signed a minor league contract with the Phillies on Monday that includes an invitation to spring training, Ryan Lawrence of the Philly Voice reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lough spent time with both the major league club and Triple-A affiliate in the Orioles organization in 2015, although he posted a lowly .554 OPS in 144 plate appearances with the big club. At age 30, Lough doesn't provide a lot of future promise for a rebuilding Phillies club, but he could provide a veteran presence as a backup outfielder if he makes the team out of spring training.

The Orioles declined to tender Lough a contract for 2016, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lough appeared in 84 games with the O's last season but made just 34 starts, and he did not do much with the opportunities he was given. The 29-year-old turned in a .555 OPS with five walks in 144 plate appearances, so even though he was not in line for much of a raise in his first year of arbitration eligibility, it was still to much for the little he provides.

Lough's contract was purchased from Triple-A Norfolk by the Orioles on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Lough struggled during his time with the Orioles this season, hitting just .202/.243/.318 in 129 at-bats and was sent down to Triple-A Norfolk near the end of August. His latest stint with Baltimore is likely just to provide some depth in the outfield, however he could get an occasional spot start as the season winds to a close.

Lough is starting in left field and batting ninth Monday against the Twins, according to Rich Dubroff of Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantc. Giving Nolan Reimold the day off, Lough gets the start in left field. In 99 at-bats, he's hitting for a .222/.267/.354 slash line and will continue to be used as the occasional starter, pinch hitter and defensive substitute.

Lough is in the starting lineup for game two of Sunday's double header against the Indians and will bat ninth, Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com reports. Lough is replacing Adam Jones in center field, as Jones gets the game off after playing in game one of the doubleheader. Lough has gone hitless in three straight outings since hitting a home run in Jones's absence, so he will look to turn things around on Sunday.

With Adam Jones on the bench, Lough thrived, launching his fourth home run of the season. The three-run blast was Lough's only hit of the evening, but he did also score two runs in the contest. With Jones banged up, Lough has gotten some extra at bats this month. However, the outfielder is hitting a quiet .226 for the season.

Lough is in Wednesday's lineup against the Phillies, one day after going 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs, MASN Sports reports. Lough is starting for the second day in the row after sitting for 10 days. He is 7-for-11 with three doubles against Philadelphia starter Kevin Correia. Adam Jones is missing his second game in a row, which also plays into Lough's hand. Jones could return to the lineup as soon as Thursday.

Lough, making his fifth straight start, went 1-for-4 in the Orioles' loss to the Astros on Monday night. With the decision to designated Alejandro de Aza for assignment last week, and the inconsistent production from Travis Snider, Lough is receiving an opportunity to carve out a larger role after being used sparingly for the bulk of the first two months. The early returns have been unimpressive, however, as he's currently carrying a .240/.283/.300 line while going 4-for-17 over the course of the current five-game stretch he's spent in the lineup.

Lough pinch ran Friday, one day after being hit by a pitch in the foot, MASN Sports reports. Lough remained in Thursday's game and showed no ill effects from the HBP. He did not start Friday, but starts for Lough are rare as it is.
