Dahl appears to be in line for a spot on the Padres' Opening Day roster, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl signed a minor-league contract with San Diego in December and was given the opportunity to compete for a roster spot in spring training. He did well with the opportunity, posting a .288/.311/.458 slash line with one home run, five doubles, a triple, eight runs and 10 RBI. Though his placement on the 40-man roster has yet to be made official, it appears likely that Dahl will break camp with the big club with Brandon Dixon and Tim Lopes sent to minor-league camp Sunday. Dahl was solid major-league player in his first three seasons with Colorado, but he's been unable to do much since 2019 and didn't play in the big leagues at all last season. Dahl figures to work primarily as a bench bat and reserve outfielder during the coming campaign.

Dahl signed a minor-league contract with the Padres on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Though he's still just 28 years old, Dahl is well removed from his days as a top-flight prospect in the Rockies system and is now simply trying to stick around in affiliated ball. Dahl has mostly avoided the significant injuries that hampered his development early in his big-league career, but he hasn't surfaced in the majors since the 2021 campaign, when he posted a .569 OPS and 26.8 percent strikeout rate over 63 games in the majors. He split time with the Brewers' and Nationals' Triple-A affiliates in 2022, slashing .279/.345/.442 with 10 home runs and four stolen bases across 359 plate appearances.

Dahl exercised his August 15 opt out in his minor league contact Monday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl will become a free agent again after he opted out of his contract with the Nationals on Monday. The outfielder has batted .248 with 10 homers, 51 RBI, 54 runs and four stolen bases over 85 games in Triple-A this season. Dahl could provide a lefty bat for a team in contention down the stretch.

Dahl signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Friday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl landed a minor-league contract with Milwaukee in August of 2021 but was released July 11 after slashing .294/.357/.468 with nine homers, 44 runs, 41 RBI and three stolen bases in 67 games at Triple-A Nashville to begin the 2022 season. The 28-year-old hasn't appeared in the majors since August of 2021 but will likely be an option to join the Nationals if the team ultimately trades Juan Soto.

The Brewers released Dahl from his minor-league contract July 11.
EDGE Analysis
After re-signing with Milwaukee over the winter on a minor-league deal that included an invitation to big-league spring training, Dahl failed to win a spot on the Opening Day roster and opened the campaign at Triple-A Nashville. Though the historically injury-prone Dahl enjoyed good health at Nashville, he was unable to earn a call-up to the Brewers despite submitting a .294/.357/.468 slash line (120 wRC+). Dahl's pedigree and strong production at the MLB level earlier in his career with the Rockies should allow him to find an opportunity elsewhere, but the 28-year-old still looks to be a long way off from re-emerging as an everyday player in the majors.

The Brewers reassigned Dahl to their minor-league camp Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Coming off a 2021 campaign in which he slashed .210/.247/.322 over 220 big-league plate appearances with the Rangers, Dahl was forced to settle for a minor-league deal with Milwaukee in free agency. Though he was given the chance to compete for a bench job with the big club in spring training, Dahl ultimately wasn't able to make enough of an impression to push his way on to the Opening Day roster. He's expected to begin the campaign at Triple-A Nashville, where he'll look to stay healthy and show some semblance of the power/speed combination that once made him a prized prospect in the Rockies system.

Dahl agreed to a minor-league contract with the Brewers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl was released by the Rangers in early August after struggling to a .210/.247/.322 line in 63 games. He's had some effective seasons in the past with the Rockies and is still just 27 years old, so it's certainly possible he becomes a useful piece for the Brewers, but the last time he produced an above-average batting line was 2019, so expectations should remain low for now.

The Rangers granted Dahl his unconditional release Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Texas dropped Dahl from its 40-man roster and exposed him to waivers, but none of MLB's other 29 teams were willing to scoop up the outfielder and assume the money remaining on his one-year, $2.7 million deal. Once a touted prospect in the Colorado system, Dahl has endured numerous injuries over the past few seasons that have stunted his development and sent his career on a downward trajectory. Even when he was healthy enough to play this season, the 27-year-old outfielder struggled mightily at the plate, slashing .210/.247/.322 with a 26.8 percent strikeout rate over 220 plate appearances. He's now free to look for a new opportunity with another organization.

Dahl was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl was designated for assignment by the Rockies during the offseason, and he didn't do enough in 63 games for the Rangers to warrant sticking with him for the rest of the season. The 27-year-old has a .569 OPS and 26.8 percent strikeout rate this season, and he has especially struggled against lefties with a .102/.156/.136 slash line.

Dahl is out of the lineup Monday against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl is 2-for-20 in his past seven games and will take a seat for the second time in the past three contests. Adolis Garcia will shift to right field while Eli White starts in center.
