Dahl was activated from the 10-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A El Paso by the Padres on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl is recovered from his quad injury but will remain in El Paso for now and hope for a call-up. The 29-year-old is 1-for-9 at the plate during his short time with the Padres this season.

Dahl (quadriceps) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A El Paso on Friday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl has been on the injured list for just over a month due to a right quadriceps strain, but he's been cleared to return to game action at the minor-league level. Given the length of his absence, it wouldn't be surprising to see Dahl appear in multiple games with the Triple-A club before rejoining the Padres.

The Padres placed Dahl on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right quadriceps strain.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl had been unavailable because of the quad strain over the past few games. The Padres will stash him on the IL for at least the next week, replacing Dahl on the 26-man active roster with utility man Brandon Dixon, who was called up from Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move. Rougned Odor, Jose Azocar and Dixon will be the main candidates to pick up time in right field in place of Dahl until Fernando Tatis (suspension) is eligible to make his season debut April 20.

Padres manager Bob Melvin told reporters before Saturday's game against Atlanta that Dahl is dealing with an upper quad injury, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
As Cassavell notes in his report, this helps explain why right field has essentially become a platoon between Rougned Odor and Jose Azocar over the past few games. The outfielder could be available off the bench in the coming days, but it's also possible Dahl's unavailability could lead to a stint on the injured list.

Dahl is not in the Padres' lineup Thursday at Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Rougned Odor will cover right field and bat eighth against right-handed starter Spencer Strider. Jose Azocar is also sitting.

Dahl is starting in right field and batting eighth for the Padres on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl hit a pinch-hit, game-tying solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning Monday to help the Padres to a 5-4 win over Arizona, and he'll be rewarded with a start in Tuesday's matinee versus the Diamondbacks and right-hander Zac Gallen. Jose Azocar and Rougned Odor are on the bench for this one.

Dahl hit a game-tying solo home run in the ninth inning of Monday's 5-4 win over Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
Rougned Odor started in right field for the Padres and was later replaced on defense by Jose Azocar. When Azocar's turn to bat came up in the ninth, manager Bob Melvin opted to go to Dahl, who came through with the game-tying bomb. It was the veteran's first hit as a Padre -- he went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts in his previous two contests this season.

Dahl is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
While Fernando Tatis (suspension) completes a 20-game ban to begin the season and while Adam Engel (hamstring) is on the shelf, Dahl looks like he may occupy the strong side of a platoon in right field. With southpaw Austin Gomber twirling for the Rockies on Sunday, the lefty-hitting Dahl will cede his spot to the righty-hitting Jose Azocar.

Dahl had his contract selected by the Padres on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl was informed Wednesday that he had made the Padres' Opening Day roster, and now it's official. It's a talent-filled depth chart, but the 28-year-old former top prospect might get semi-regular starts in the outfield as Fernando Tatis Jr. serves out the remainder of his PED suspension.

Dahl was told he'd made the Padres on Wednesday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Padres have yet to release their official roster for Opening Day, but the 28-year-old lefty will featured among their outfielders when they do. Dahl had himself a solid spring, slashing .288/.311/.458 and driving in 10 RBI through 61 plate appearances. He will likely come off the bench to face primarily right-handed pitching.
