Ruf went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a 3-0 win over the Mets on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Ruf is finally getting regular at-bats down the stretch run and responding well. The righty has four home runs, two doubles and 10 RBI over his last nine games. Ruf has always shows potential, but has struggled against right-handed pitching. In fact, Ruf is hitting .164 off righties and .374 off lefties this season. The 1.091 OPS against southpaws is an absurd number and if he could just carry some of that power over to right-handed pitching Ruf would become a fantasy asset.

Ruf went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran first baseman's first-inning three-run shot off Bartolo Colon was his third in the last seven games, and his fourth overall in September. Ruf has demonstrated some offensive pop in the form of 11 round-trippers over 252 at-bats and a .413 slugging percentage this season.

Ruf will get some additional starts at first base while Ryan Howard (knee) is sidelined, CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Howard had his knee drained Monday and is currently considered day-to-day. Ruf has already been starting against lefties, but he will now pick up some at-bats against righties until Howard can return.

Ruf went 3-for-5 with a homer, six RBI and two runs Tuesday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Ruf's big night was capped off by his three-run homer to break the game open for the Phillies in the third inning. Despite not seeing regular at-bats this season, he drove in more runs in this game than he had in any month this season.

Ruf was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
The move corresponds to Chase Utley (ankle inflammation) being placed on the 15-day DL. Ruf probably won't see much playing time with the big league club, but he could see a couple starts in left field each week while occasionally filling in at first base. He hit just .235 with three home runs in 111 plate appearances with the Phillies earlier this season before being sent to Triple-A.

Ruf was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.
The move corresponds with Domonic Brown getting recalled, so the Phillies are just shuffling some underwhelming outfielders, although Brown offers more upside than Ruf. It would not be surprising to see Ruf back with the Phillies later this season if someone on the big league roster is hurt or struggling.

Ruf had a pinch-hit single to drive in the winning run for the Phillies on Tuesday against the Reds.
Ruf was the hero Tuesday, but he hasn't played that role for fantasy owners. His at-bat Tuesday was just his fourth plate appearance since May 24. His playing time will remain limited with Cody Asche starting in left and Ryan Howard entrenched at first base. Ruf's chances for increased playing time this season will be tied to the Phillies' ability to move Howard by the trade deadline.

Ruf is out of the lineup Thursday, the Morning Call's Stephen Gross reports.
Grady Sizemore and Ben Revere will start in the outfield corners, so Ruff gets the day off. His playing time has become more uneven lately, as he will be out of the lineup for the third time in the last four games.

Ruf is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports.
After starting each of the previous six games, Ruf is now out of the lineup for a second straight contest. Jeff Francoeur and Ben Revere will flank Obdul Herrera in the Phillies' outfield Tuesday night.

Ruf is out of the lineup Monday against the Pirates.
After six straight starts, Ruf gets the night off. He's hit for a .191/.243/.338 slash line this season while splitting time between left field and first base. He's been particularly poor against righties, hitting just .140 with 15 strikeouts this season, so a day off against the right-handed Gerrit Cole makes sense.
