Dorn was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on Friday, Fanragsports.com's Jack Magruder reports.

Dorn was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Saturday. Dorn has cobbled together two multi-week stays in the majors this season. However, he's totaled 29 at-bats in 22 appearances, which intimates his pinch-hitting role. Overall, he's supplied a .172/.226/.207 line with three RBIs, so the 30-year-old journeyman may have a difficult time earning another opportunity with the Diamondbacks.

Dorn went 2-for-4 in his return to the majors Monday against the Angels. He has continued to pound Triple-A pitching this year to the tune of a .426/.470/.628 line. Despite finding some success in his brief exposure to major league pitching (.385/.467/.462 in 15 plate appearances), the 30-year-old Dorn is not a significant fantasy asset.

Dorn is hitting second and playing first base Tuesday against the Angels, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. Dorn was recalled from Triple-A Reno earlier Tuesday to take the spot of Ender Inciarte (hamstring), who hit the 15-day DL. Dorn has torn up Triple-A pitching in 39 games this season, and he'll look to translate that success to the big league level.

The Diamondbacks optioned Dorn to Triple-A Reno following Saturday's game against the Padres. They did this despite Dorn hitting a pinch-hit double off of Craig Kimbrel in the ninth inning to tie Saturday night's game. He was used in a pinch-hit capacity the entire time with the Diamondbacks.

Dorn was called up from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday. The Diamondbacks had a roster spot open up with Jake Lamb (foot) landing on the DL, and it will be Dorn who takes his place for now. Dorn does own a .272/.348/.476 career batting line at the Triple-A level (2,558 PA), but he will likely be used sparingly off the bench as he can only really play first base and the corner outfield.
