Johnson was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Cleveland just doesn't seem to like Johnson as much as his numbers suggest he deserves. Despite the team's lack of established talent in the outfield and his own .290/.361/.507 slash line in the upper minors in 2019, he got into just five major-league games last season. There are still plenty of at-bats seemingly available in the outfield this season, but Johnson's .368/.380/.580 slash line through nine spring games evidently didn't get him particularly close to breaking camp with the team.

Johnson may not make the Opening Day roster, despite a very impressive start to Cactus League play, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The toolsy outfielder is hitting .364 with two home runs and one strikeout in 11 at-bats this spring. However, due to his lack of reps last season, it sounds like he might need to wait a month or two before getting another look in the majors. Bell reports that Eddie Rosario will be the everyday left fielder while Oscar Mercado and Bradley Zimmer compete in center field and Josh Naylor leads the way in right field. Johnson's plus power and speed give him a more exciting fantasy ceiling than Naylor, and he has the arm for right field, so even if he doesn't win a spot on the Opening Day roster, he's a prime candidate for a midseason promotion.

Johnson was optioned to Cleveland's alternate training site Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The Indians have given Johnson some starts early in the season (amid one prior demotion to the alternate site), but he has struggled in his first taste of the majors, going 1-for-12 with a walk and five strikeouts. He has fantasy-relevant tools (plus speed, some pop) and would be an appealing flier if it ever appeared that he was set for consistent playing time.

Johnson was recalled from Cleveland's satellite camp prior to Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
One of Cleveland's top big-league ready prospects, Johnson saw a couple starts in the first week of the season before being optioned down Tuesday. He gets to come up just one day later with Roberto Perez (shoulder) landing on the injured list. Johnson has an intriguing blend of power and speed, but he will need to start getting steady playing time to become relevant in mixed leagues.

Johnson was optioned to the alternate training site after Game 1 of Tuesday's twin bill against the White Sox, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old received the start in right field and went 1-for-2 -- recording his first big-league hit -- before being pinch hit for by Oscar Mercado. Johnson could rejoin the big-league club later in the season, but for now he'll try to stay fresh at the alternate site.

Johnson is starting in right field and batting sixth in Saturday's game against the Royals, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson was recalled by Cleveland on Friday, and he'll make his MLB debut Saturday. Over 123 games in the minors last year, the 25-year-old slashed .290/.361/.507 with 19 home runs and 77 RBI.

Johnson was recalled from the Indians' alternate training site Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old wasn't initially set to be included on the Opening Day roster, but he'll provide some extra outfield depth with Tyler Naquin dealing with a toe injury. Johnson is one of the organizations top prospects and had a .306/.371/.496 slash line at Triple-A Columbus last season, but he may not see significant opportunities in his first taste of the majors.

Johnson will be a part of the Indians' 60-man player pool this season.
EDGE Analysis
While he would have opened the year at Triple-A under normal circumstances, Johnson will now get to train with the best players on the roster at Progressive Field before the regular season begins. He lacks the experience of players like Tyler Naquin and Jake Bauers, but Johnson's combination of power and speed give him a higher fantasy ceiling. He hit .306/.371/.496 with nine home runs and six steals in 380 plate appearances at Triple-A in 2019.

Johnson was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson was always a long shot to break camp on the major-league roster, as Cleveland has more than enough outfielders. If Johnson can build on his .306/.371/.496 line in 84 games for Columbus last season, however, he could be making his debut before too long.

Johnson (ankle) is listed as an available reserve on the lineup card for Tuesday's Cactus League game against the Angels, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Slowed by a sprained ankle early in camp, Johnson made his spring debut Feb. 28 and has proceeded to appear in two more games since that. He looks to be back to full health now and should be ready to handle an everyday role when Triple-A Columbus opens its season April 9.
