Dan Uggla is dealing with vision issues and could wind up undergoing Lasik surgery. Uggla was not in the Braves' lineup Thursday, as he was visiting the eye doctor. "Well, now you have the situation with his eyes," assistant hitting coach Scott Fletcher said. "His vision - it's something that's been bothering him for a while and only now is it something he's really taking care of." It's not clear if a potential Lasik operation would be performed in-season or over the winter.

Dan Uggla had two home runs in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Dodgers. Uggla hit a three-run homer off Matt Magill in the third inning and later added a solo shot in the fifth. After slumping for the first two months of the season, he's finally starting to come alive offensively. Ugglas leads all second basemen with 13 home runs, but is batting just .193/.322/.421 through his first 58 games.

Dan Uggla went 1-for-2 with two-run homer in Sunday's loss to the Mets. He now has three homers in his last six games. As always, Uggla has been an infuriating fantasy player. He's sixth in the National League with 10 homers and ninth in walks with 24, but he makes contact about as much as Jody Foster in a Robert Zemeckis film. The slugger has 16 singles on the year, compared to 14 extra-base hits. His awful .299 OBP won't help owners with runs or RBI, and his .190 batting average promises to single-handedly drag Roto owners down a few notches in that category.

Dan Uggla launched a pair of solo homers Wednesday in the Braves' 7-2 win in Cincinnati. Uggla's homers were the Braves' only runs through seven innings before the team came up with five in the eighth. He's now hit in six straight games to raise his average from .163 to .209. Today's performance got him back to the Mendoza Line for the first time since April 10.

Dan Uggla (calf) is in the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rockies. Uggla didn't play Sunday after he left Saturday's game with a strained left calf. He'll likely be rested for the nightcap.

Dan Uggla (calf) will sit out Sunday's series finale against the Pirates. Uggla left Saturday's game with a strained left calf, and he'll get the day off Sunday to rest the leg. He hopes to return to action as early as Monday, so a trip to the disabled list will likely not be necessary. Ramiro Pena will start in his place Sunday.

Dan Uggla left Saturday's game against the Pirates because of a left calf strain. Uggla was replaced by Ramiro Pena. The second baseman is considered day-to-day with the injury for now but could require a stint on the 15-day disabled list. Hitting just .164/.303/.327 on the young season, a mental and physical reset might do Uggla some good.

The slumping Dan Uggla went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts against the Astros on Thursday. Uggla is hitting .200 with a terrible 25/3 K/BB ratio in 75 at-bats. Also, just two of his 15 hits have gone for extra bases. Uggla has always run hot and cold, but now it looks like his early struggles might linger into the regular season. We wonder how much patience the Braves will have him with him, particularly if Tyler Pastornicky keeps on hitting in Triple-A like he has this spring.

Dan Uggla said he was fine after leaving Tuesday's game following a hit by pitch in the back of the neck. Good to hear. Uggla was removed for precautionary reasons, but it sounds like he won't even require concussion tests. He should return to action as soon as Wednesday.

Dan Uggla left Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Yankees after being hit in the helmet by a pitch. Uggla stayed on his feet and went to first base without any apparent issues, but the Braves wisely chose to play it safe and remove him. The club will surely do some concussion tests, at which point they should have an update on Uggla's status.
