Johnson signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on Tuesday and will be assigned to Double-A Tulsa, Michael Rand of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson, who has played ten major league seasons with six different teams as a first baseman, has reinvented himself as a knuckleball pitcher. The 36-year-old posted a 4-3 record with a 4.50 ERA for an independent team in Minnesota this Summer and says he could still be versatile as a pinch hitter. Despite the remarkable achievement, a late call-up seems unlikely at this point.

Johnson was released from minor league camp on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 36-year-old former first baseman tried to reinvent himself as a knuckleball pitcher before the Rays released him. Johnson signed a minor league deal with Tampa Bay earlier this month after seeing 21 plate appearances for the Cardinals in 2015. Johnson previously played 81 games for the Rays spanning from 2008 to 2011, mainly as a first baseman. The chances of another team signing Johnson this late in the spring are pretty slim.

Johnson signed a minor league deal with the Rays on Saturday as a knuckleball pitcher, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran Johnson spent his entire major league career as a first baseman and designated hitter, but after logging a mere 15 big league at-bats with the Cardinals last season, he will try to make the transition to pitcher. According to Topkin's report, Johnson is in the Rays' minor league camp but needs to pass his physical before his deal is made official.

Johnson has elected to become a free agent, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson managed just 19 at-bats with the Cardinals in 2015 and the 36-year-old hasn't seen more than 100 at-bats in a season since 2011. He could sign a minor-league deal with another club this offseason, but he's unlikely to become fantasy relevant so late in his career.

Johnson is in the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs. After being recalled Wednesday, Johnson will slot into the Cards' lineup in the eighth spot. He has hit 11 home runs at the Triple-A level this season and has shown good plate discipline with 42 walks in 294 at-bats.

Johnson was recalled from Triple-A on Wednesday. The Cardinals optioned both Tyler Lyons and Marcus Hatley to the minors Wednesday, so Johnson will fill one of the vacant roster spots. The first baseman has not appeared in a major league game this season, and he holds a modest .242/.350/.427 slash line at Triple-A.

Johnson signed a minor league contract with the Cardinals on Monday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports. Johnson spent the beginning of the season with Triple-A Louisville of the Reds organization, but an underwhelming start to the season led to his release. He will now provide the Cardinals with organizational depth, looking to turn things around from a slow start.

Johnson, who was acquired from the Astros on Thursday, won't report to the Reds' major league camp, instead going directly to their minor league camp. Johnson essentially is an insurance policy in case Joey Votto has another long-term injury, so that they have a better alternative at first base than Donald Lutz or moving Brayan Pena out from behind the plate.

The Astros traded Johnson to the Reds on Thursday in exchange for cash or a player to be named later, the Houston Chronicle reports. Johnson wasn't likely to play for the Astros any time soon, so the team decided to ship him to Cincinnati to give him a chance to make an impact there. Johnson figures to compete for a bench spot with the Reds, but it seems most likely his season begins with Triple-A Lousville.

Johnson signed a minor league contract with the Astros on Tuesday. His deal includes an invitation to spring training. Johnson will head to Houston in search of a roster spot after spending last season in the Blue Jays organization. The 15 games he played with Toronto last year were his most in a season since 2011, so he is going to have to make quite an impression to come away with a spot on the Opening Day roster.
