Diamondbacks signed RHP Dan Cortes to a minor league deal. Cortes had signed a minor league deal with the Nationals last Winter, but the deal was voided when he couldn't pass his physical. The 26-year-old didn't pitch professionally in 2012, and posted a 5.91 ERA in 10 2/3 innings with the Mariners in 2011.

Dan Cortes failed his physical with the Nationals. Cortes was inked to a minor league deal in early January but wasn't able to pass the necessary medical tests when he showed up to spring camp a couple weeks ago. The 24-year-old right-hander's contract has been voided.
