Braves released RHP D.J. Carrasco. Carrasco signed a minor league deal with the Braves two weeks ago after being released by the Mets, but he was blasted for seven runs on 10 hits and five walks over just five innings with Triple-A Gwinnett. He'll attempt to latch on elsewhere.

D.J. Carrasco was ejected from Tuesday's game after hitting Ryan Braun with a pitch following a Rickie Weeks home run. The homer put the Brewers up 7-0 in the seventh inning, and evidently home plate ump Gary Darling felt Carrasco's pitch was intentional. The middle reliever figures to only get a small fine, if anything.

He fared well on his minor league rehab assignment and has been cleared to return to the Mets' bullpen. He'll likely be utilized in a middle relief role.

D.J. Carrasco (ankle) is expected to resume his minor league rehab assignment with either Double-A Binghamton or Triple-A Buffalo. Carrasco, who is currently working his way back from an ankle injury, has struck out four and walked one over six scoreless innings with High-A St. Lucie. Barring any setbacks, he should be ready to join the Mets' bullpen in the next week or so.

D.J. Carrasco (ankle) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Monday with High-A St. Lucie. Carrasco began the season on the disabled list with a right ankle sprain.
