Mead is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Mead had started in each of Chicago's last 12 games, but he'll hit the bench while the White Sox welcome Miguel Vargas (wrist) back from the injured list. Given that he slashed a middling .255/.300/.362 over that 12-game stretch, Mead may not have made a compelling enough of a case for the White Sox to continue giving him everyday at-bats in the corner infield ahead of Mead and Lenyn Sosa. The right-handed-hitting Mead will likely continue to play regularly against left-handed pitching, however.

Mead went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI on Thursday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Mead has started eight straight games and 10 of the last 11 contests while playing exclusively at third base. In that 11-game span, he's gone 13-for-44 (.295) with three RBI, seven runs scored and five doubles. Mead also has a seven-game hitting streak and should continue to see regular at-bats at least until Miguel Vargas (wrist) rejoins the lineup.

Mead will start at third base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Mead will be making his fourth consecutive start after going 2-for-11 with a double and two runs over the previous three contests. The 24-year-old should be in line for a near-everyday role at the hot corner while Miguel Vargas (hand) is on the injured list.

Mead is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
After bouncing between the corner infield spots over nine straight games and going 9-for-31 (.290) with one stolen base, five RBI and two runs, Mead will get a second straight contest off. The White Sox will go with Lenyn Sosa at first base and Miguel Vargas at the hot corner as they look to avoid a series sweep.

Mead isn't starting against the Royals on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Mead has been a regular at third base since getting called up from Triple-A on Aug. 3, and he's held his own with a .281/.361/.281 slash line -- albeit with no extra-base hits -- along with five RBI and a stolen base over 10 games as a member of the White Sox. He's getting a breather Saturday, though, as Miguel Vargas is starting at the hot corner and Lenyn Sosa is sliding over to first base.

The White Sox plan to give Mead regular playing time at third base down the stretch, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mead handled first base in his first six starts for the White Sox, but Miguel Vargas returned from the injured list Tuesday and is slated to play that position moving forward. That leaves the hot corner for Mead, although the White Sox will have more juggling to do with their infield once Chase Meidroth (thumb) is back. Mead is 7-for-27 with five RBI in his first eight games since arriving in Chicago.

Mead went 2-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored Tuesday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Mead has started seven straight games since being recalled by the White Sox, playing primarily at first base. The playing time there is likely to disappear due to the return of Miguel Vargas, but Mead shifted to third base on Tuesday. The White Sox will look to continue to find ways to get Mead into the lineup, as he has at least one hit in four of those seven contests and has gone 7-for-27 with five RBI and a stolen base.

Mead went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Friday against the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Mead joined the big-league roster Sunday but didn't enter the starting lineup until Wednesday. Friday marked his third consecutive start, and he's collected at least one hit in each of those contests. Mead delivered a two-RBI single in sixth inning of Friday's game.

The White Sox recalled Mead from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old was acquired by Chicago from Tampa Bay in the Adrian Houser trade Thursday and won't have to wait long to make his White Sox debut after Miguel Vargas (oblique) landed on the injured list. Mead should help fill in for Vargas at first base but could also see action at second and third base.

The Rays traded Mead to the White Sox along with Duncan Davitt and Ben Peoples for Adrian Houser, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mead was optioned by the Rays to Triple-A Durham on July 18. He can find playing time in the majors with the White Sox who sit in last place of the American League. The second-baseman has struggled in the majors during his first three seasons, but is yet to have some runway at the major league level.
