Sanchez was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez pitched out of the bullpen over his last three appearances, and he gave up four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out two in three innings during Sunday's win over the Nationals. The southpaw will head back to the minors since Zach Eflin (kneecap) is expected to return to action Tuesday.

Sanchez has made his last two appearances out of the Phillies bullpen, covering 4.1 innings and striking out seven while allowing six earned runs on five hits and six walks.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez struck out seven in a quality start Aug. 24 against the Reds, but he's since been replaced in the rotation by Bailey Falter, who was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley two days later. Though Sanchez could be the next man up if the Phillies require another starter at some point in September, he'll likely be limited to low-leverage or mop-up work out of the bullpen for the time being.

Sanchez (2-1) earned the win Wednesday, allowing three runs on six hits over six innings against the Reds. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez allowed solo home runs to outfielder Stuart Fairchild to open the scoring in the second and shortstop Kyle Farmer in the fourth. This was the lefty's eleventh outing in the major leagues this season but only his third start. The 25-year-old has surrendered three runs or fewer in all three starts and pitched five innings or more in two of them. In addition, he enjoys a 2.60 ERA and 0.87 WHIP in 17.1 innings over his last six outings.

Sanchez was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley ahead of Wednesday's start against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez has been in the minors since mid-July but will make a spot start Wednesday to give the rest of the Phillies' rotation an extra day of rest. Over 10 appearances (two starts) in the majors this year, he's posted a 3.80 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 23.2 innings.

Sanchez will be recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to start Wednesday's game against the Reds, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Phillies will elect to give the starting rotation an extra day of rest with the home stretch of the regular season in sight, as Sanchez's spot start will push each member of the rotation back by a day. The southpaw's last outing dates back to July 10 against the Cardinals, when he surrendered two runs on two hits and one walk while fanning one over three innings.

EDGE Analysis
Sanchez will return to Triple-A after he tossed eight innings, surrendering two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three over two outings following his promotion July. The left-hander will remain a top candidate to get called up in the coming months.

Sanchez is scheduled to pitch as either a starter or bulk reliever in Sunday's game in St. Louis, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'll be awarded a second straight turn through the rotation after he acquitted himself well Tuesday in a home matchup with the Nationals. Sanchez struck out only two of the 18 batters he faced, but he rolled to an easy victory while blanking the Nationals over five innings and allowing two hits and two walks in the Phillies' 11-0 win.

Sanchez (1-1) picked up the win Tuesday in an 11-0 rout of the Nationals, giving up two hits and two walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old lefty wasn't dominant and got the hook after only 60 pitches (35 strikes) in his first big-league start since May 8, but Sanchez lasted long enough to get credit for a win as he took advantage of the massive run support the Phillies offense supplied. He will likely only stick in the rotation until Ranger Suarez (back) or Zach Eflin (knee) are ready to return, but Sanchez's 3.48 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB through 20.2 innings in the majors this season are at least encouraging numbers.
