Stammen gave up a hit and two walks in 1.1 scoreless innings while striking out one to record his third save of the season in Wednesday's 8-7 win over the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
With Kirby Yates having pitched on three straight days and four of the last five, the Padres closer got the day off and left ninth-inning duties to Stammen, who got the job done despite issuing multiple free passes for the first time all year. The veteran setup man now sports a 3.79 ERA and 29:5 K:BB through 38 innings, and Stammen has five wins and 16 holds to go along with his saves.

Stammen (5-3) picked up the win Friday against the Rockies after tossing a scoreless inning, allowing one hit and striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Stammen came into the 11th inning with the game tied at 11 and managed to keep the Rockies from scoring. The Padres took advantage by tacking on five runs in the 12th inning to gift Stammen with the win. The right-hander had a few ugly recent outings, but overall has a 4.04 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 26:3 K:BB over 33 appearances.

Stammen (4-3) took the loss against the Nationals on Sunday, giving up four earned runs on five hits while recording two outs in the Padres' 5-2 defeat. He struck out one and walked none.
EDGE Analysis
Stammen has been a reliable cog in San Diego's bullpen, but he had an outing to forget in this contest as he gave up four home runs in a row in the eighth inning to Howie Kendrick, Trea Turner, Adam Eaton and Anthony Rendon. The rough performance bumped his ERA from 3.27 to 4.28 through 33.2 innings, but he still has 15 holds and a 24:3 K:BB, so hopefully this is just a blip in what has otherwise been a solid season.

Stammen picked up the save by striking out one over a scoreless ninth inning Friday night against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Stammen struck out the first batter of the inning and drilled the second hitter before managing to record the final two outs of the ballgame. He threw nine of 13 pitches for strikes on the way to a save. Though Kirby Yates is the obvious closer for the Padres, Stammen has proven himself worthy of save opportunities on nights when Yates is unavailable.

Stammen struck out one in 1.1 perfect innings Monday to record his first save of the season in a 4-0 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander entered the game in the eighth inning with the Padres leading 2-0, but after they tacked on a couple of insurance runs to remove a save situation for Kirby Yates, Stammen was allowed to finish the job. His 2.75 ERA and 15:1 K:BB through 19.1 innings are sharp, and San Diego's top setup man now has three wins and nine holds, along with the save, through 17 appearances.

Stammen (3-1) blew the save but ended up with the win, giving up one earned run on one hit in his one inning of work in the Padres' 4-3 win over the Nationals on Friday. He didn't record a strikeout or a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Stammen was tagged with the blown save after giving up a game-tying solo homer to Carter Kieboom, but he wound getting his third win of the season after Hunter Renfroe came through with a go-ahead homer in the ninth. Despite two blown saves to his name, the 35-year-old righty is doing good work out of the Padres' bullpen so far this season, as he's racked up eight holds to go along with a 3.00 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and an 11:1 K:BB over 15 innings.

Stammen threw two scoreless innings against the Diamondbacks on Thursday, allowing one hit, striking out two and walking none in the Padres' 4-1 win.
EDGE Analysis
Stammen is off to a great start, as he has yet to give up a run over 4.1 innings coming off his strong Wednesday effort. He posted a 2.73 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 79 innings while racking up 23 holds in the setup role for the Padres last year, and he looks set to act as the go-option in front of closer Kirby Yates again this season.

Stammen gave up a run on two hits and a walk while striking out one over an inning in Monday's win over Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
Stammen was expected to serve as closer while Kirby Yates (personal) was away from the team this weekend, but the Padres didn't produce a save opportunity over that span. The veteran reliever will revert to his usual setup role where he produced a 2.65 ERA and 20 holds over 68 innings this year.

Stammen could be called upon to serve as San Diego's ninth-inning man while Kirby Yates (bereavement) is away from the team.
EDGE Analysis
Yates was placed on the bereavement list prior to Friday's game, which means he will miss at least three games and could be away from the club for up to seven contests. On the year, Stammen has logged a 2.55 ERA and 1.01 WHIP with 74 strikeouts in 67 innings of work, but he's only accumulated one save in his nine-year career.

Stammen danced around two hits and a walk to fire a scoreless inning with a strikeout in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Stammen got into a bit of hot water while trying to protect a one-run lead, but a timely strikeout and a bases-loaded groundout allowed him to pass the torch to Kirby Yates for the save. The 34-year-old now owns a career-best 19 holds with a 2.70 ERA and 10.1 K/9 over 63.1 innings.
