Kimbrel figures to see plenty of save opportunities in the second half, as the Red Sox continue to put together an impressive season.

Kimbrel was called on to preserve the tie and did just that, leaving himself the pitcher of record when Xander Bogaerts hit a walkoff grand slam. The hosts scored a run on two hits to draw within three in the bottom of the ninth, so it was Kimbrel who came in to end the threat. He allowed a hit to the first man he faced but struck out the next two to close things out. Kimbrel has now tossed seven straight scoreless outings to lower his ERA back down to a minuscule 1.98 for the season.

This is just the second time all season that Kimbrel was brought in for more than three outs and the first time it was for a save situation.
