Rasmus is headed for the 15-day DL with a strained right groin, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The hits just keep coming for the Angels, but Rasmus seems confident his injury isn't too serious. He suggested he could make it back soon after his two weeks are up. The 28-year-old has struggled in 11 appearances this season and is probably out of the mix for starts with Jhoulys Chacin now in Anaheim, and Tim Lincecum likely to follow.

Rasmus is a candidate to start Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matt Shoemaker is the favorite to start Wednesday, but just the fact that Rasmus is in the discussion suggests he probably has at least a handful of starts in his future this season after the Angels' rotation has been decimated by injuries. He allowed five runs on five hits over 2.1 innings on a spot start that was essentially a bullpen game Friday, but could theoretically go deeper into a start Wednesday now that his pitch count has been built up slightly. That said, there is no reason to expect him to be any more effective.

Rasmus (0-2) allowed five runs on five hits over 2.1 innings against the Rays on Friday. He also walked two and struck out none in the loss.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old received the spot start with Garrett Richards landing on the disabled list this week. Rasmus wasn't expected to go deep into the game, but the five hits, including two homers, probably shortened his outing more than the Angels would have liked. Rasmus now has a 6.48 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 10 strikeouts and 10 walks in 16.2 innings over nine appearances this season.

Rasmus will start Friday's game against the Rays after Garrett Richards (fatigue) was scratched from his scheduled start, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Richards ruled out for the contest, the Angels have opted to have Friday be a bullpen game, allowing Rasmus to make a start. That being said, the right-hander probably won't go too far into the game unless he's really mowing down Tampa Bay's hitters, so it'll be tough for him to garner too much value despite the start.

Rasmus will not be available for Monday's game after pitching three innings of relief over the past two days, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rasmus pitched fairly well over the weekend despite the loss to his record, but he was fairly taxed, leading the Angels to give him a day off. This shouldn't affect his status going forward much, as he'll continue to get regular use once he's fully rested.

Rasmus was reinstated from the DL on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
He had a 2.35 ERA at Triple-A, pitching primarily as a reliever, but his 5.06 ERA in 10.2 innings in the big leagues this year might mean he will primarily be used in low-leverage spots over the final month.

Rasmus (abdomen) has been activated from the 60-day DL and optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake.
The move puts Ramsus back on the 40-man roster, but the Angels will likely use Rasmus in the rotation at Triple-A until injuries require the team to consider him as a depth option at the big league level. For now, Andrew Heaney will continue to fill in for Jered Weaver.

Rasmus (core muscle surgery) is set to begin his rehab assignment Friday at Triple-A Salt Lake.
Rasmus will begin his rehab assignment more than two months after being placed on the disabled list with a core muscle injury. There is no official word on how many appearances Rasmus will need before coming off the disabled list, but Friday's outing should provide some clarity.

Rasmus (hernia) will start a rehab assignment this week, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
There have been some false starts in the course of his return from surgery in March, but Rasmus appears to be on the right track now. The 27-year-old struck out more than a batter per inning while posting a 2.57 ERA in 30 games (six starts) for the Angels last year, and could slot back into their bullpen mix upon his return. However, he'll likely need to complete a fairly lengthy rehab assignment first after missing much of spring training and the first third of the season.

Rasmus (core muscle surgery) has resumed facing hitters after he was briefly shut down due to back stiffness, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports.
Rasmus is just about at the tail end of his recovery process from the surgery he underwent in March to address a core-muscle issue, and it appears he was also able to quickly shake off the back ailment to stay on track in his recovery. The 26-year-old had been set to begin a rehab assignment last week before the episode of back stiffness set in, but with that minor delay behind him, he should be ready to join a minor-league affiliate in the near future.
