Kluber (1-3) notched 10 strikeouts while pitching eight innings of two-hit ball, surrendering only an earned run in a 10-1 victory over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
The former Cy Young winner finally looked like himself in 2016, and notched his first victory of the season the hard way-- against a potent Tigers lineup in their home park. He did not issue a free pass for the first time all season, displaying excellent control and also inducing 12 swings-and-misses along the way. Although he enjoyed excellent run support he obviously didn't require it, and put together a highly encouraging bounceback effort after being knocked around for six earned runs over six innings versus the Mets on Apr. 17. Kluber will try to keep the momentum going in his next start against the Phillies on Friday night.

Kluber (0-3) dropped his third straight decision to begin the season Sunday, giving up six runs on nine hits and a walk over six innings while striking out eight as the Indians fell 6-0 to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
He was the victim of some bad defense and unfavorable decisions by the official scorer, as Rajai Davis lost two fly balls in the sun which were ruled hits and not errors, contributing to a three-run second inning. Kluber's 19:5 K:BB through 19 innings on the season is excellent, though, and arguably more reflective of his performance than his unsightly 6.16 ERA. He'll try to turn things around in his next start Saturday, on the road in Detroit.

Kluber (0-2) took the loss Tuesday night against the Rays as he allowed three runs on four hits and two walks over 7.2 innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Kluber was dominant early, as he opened with six shutout innings. But Logan Forsyth got to him for a two-run home run in the eighth inning, and that was the end of Kluber's night and any chance at a win. He was extremely nasty early on, as he induced 20 swinging strikes and 11 ground ball outs from the Rays. Kluber gave up 22 home runs last year and has give up one each in his two starts this year.

Kluber is no longer listed as a probable pitcher for this weekend's series with the White Sox following the postponement of Thursday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Kluber was set to make his second start of the week Sunday, but Thursday's rainout, coupled with a team off day Monday, means his next start is now scheduled for Tuesday. While Kluber will not get two start this week, he should next week barring any further postponements.

Kluber (0-1) allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings and took the loss Tuesday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Kluber held the Red Sox to a pair of runs through five innings before giving up two more runs that put the Indians behind for good in the sixth inning. Despite his struggles in this contest, he's a good bet to bounce back from this effort when he makes his next start Sunday at the White Sox.

Kluber's 2016 debut will be delayed until Tuesday following the announcement that the Opening Day game between the Red Sox and Indians has been postponed, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
EDGE Analysis
There should be no problem with the weather Tuesday as Kluber prepares to square off against David Price to start the season. The 29-year-old was much more successful at home (2.83 ERA) than on the road (4.15 ERA) in 2015, so making his first start in Cleveland could help him get the momentum rolling early in the year.

Kluber is in line to be the Indians' starting pitcher on Opening Day, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
On Saturday, Manager Terry Francona said that Kluber will get the nod on Opening Day "as long as everything goes according to plan" for the Indians on April 4 game against the Red Sox. Kluber has been Cleveland's ace for the past few years and will be followed by Carlos Carrasco and Danny Salazar in the rotation.

Kluber (9-16) blanked the Red Sox over eight innings Saturday in 2-0 victory, surrendering only three hits and two walks. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
After a five-start losing streak during which he was done in by a combination of questionable pitching and inconsistent run support, the stars finally aligned for Kluber on Saturday. The outing marked his second eight-inning shutout of 2015, and the third time overall that he blanked the opposing squad during his time on the mound. Although his ERA did rise over last year's number by a full point--going from 2.44 to 3.49--it was actually lower than the 3.85 figure he'd posted while amassing a solid 11-5 record in 2013. Kluber's other key metrics did not suffer any drastic drops this season either, and his BB/9 rate actually improved from 2014's 1.95 to 1.82. Nevertheless, the 29-year-old practically reversed his Cy Young-winning 18-9 record during a disappointing campaign, but certainly has the talent to rebound strongly next season.

Kluber fell to 8-16 with a loss Monday against the Twins, as he allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Kluber has now received two or fewer runs of support in 17 of his 31 starts, and that's the real explanation behind his brutal record this year. Still, Kluber's ERA is up to 3.62, over a full run higher than his 2014 mark, and the home run he gave up to Trevor Plouffe was the 22nd he has allowed this year. If Kluber is going to contend for another Cy Young award, he'll have to find a way to keep the ball in the yard.

Kluber (8-15) lasted only 3.2 innings Wednesday, giving up four earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six in a 4-2 loss to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
The Indians ace was pummeled in a nightmarish fourth inning, giving up a solo homer to Brian Dozier only to be yanked after giving up RBI hits to Trevor Plouffe and Eduardo Escobar. Kluber hasn't been particularly sharp since returning from the disabled list, failing to exceed four innings in each of his two starts. The reigning Cy Young Award winner will next take the mound Monday against the Twins.
