Conor Jackson will start at first base Friday against the Phillies. It will be his fourth start in the past five games at first base. We'd like to see Chris Carter get a shot, but he probably didn't help his cause by dropping a foul pop against the Mets on Thursday. It's more likely Carter serves as the designated hitter when the A's return home next week.
