The Red Sox placed Wong on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a fractured left finger, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wong suffered the injury Monday versus the Blue Jays when his hand was hit by a bat on a catcher's interference. It's not yet clear how long he will be sidelined, but it will surely be more than a minimum stay on the IL. Carlos Narvaez will be Boston's primary catcher while Wong is out and Blake Sabol has been recalled to back Narvaez up.

Wong will require a stint on the 10-day injured list after being diagnosed with fractured left finger, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wong had his catching hand smacked by a bat during Monday's matchup against the Blue Jays, resulting in catcher's interference and his removal from the game. The injury will sideline Wong for at least the next 10 days and presumably longer given the nature of the issue. Skipper Alex Cora noted after the game that the team hasn't decided who to promote in Wong's stead, though Blake Sabol seems to be the likely candidate to handle backup catching duties. Carlos Narvaez will step in as the starting backstop while Wong recovers.

Wong left Monday's game against the Blue Jays due to a bruised left hand, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wong appeared to suffer the injury on a catcher's interference call and left the game shortly after. He's presumably headed for further testing and can be considered day-to-day until the team provides another update on his availability moving forward. Carlos Narvaez replaced Wong behind the dish and would be in line for more chances if Wong is forced to miss additional time.

Wong is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wong will head to the bench after he went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in Boston's 5-4 extra-inning matinee win Sunday. Carlos Narvaez will take over behind the plate and bat eighth in the nightcap.

Wong will start Saturday's game against the Cardinals, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wong was held out of the lineup for two straight games but is scheduled to be part of the starting crew Saturday and Sunday. It was mildly surprising to see Carlos Narvaez start Friday's home opener, but Narvaez may be the preferred catcher whenever Walker Buehler starts.

Wong is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Wong isn't dealing with any known injury, but this is the second straight game he's sat out and Friday is Boston's home opener, so it's a bit curious that he's not in the lineup. Carlos Narvaez will do the catching and bat eighth Friday.

Wong started at catcher and went 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's spring game against Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
Wong returned to Boston's lineup after coming down with an illness last Wednesday. He made an immediate impact with a run-producing sacrifice fly in the first inning then a solo home run to lead off the fourth. The home run was his second of the spring. He's had just 15 at-bats in Grapefruit League action but is expected to be ready for the regular season.

Wong (illness) is starting behind the plate and batting sixth in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wong was scratched from the lineup Wednesday due to an illness, but he returned to team workouts Saturday and is ready for game action. The 28-year-old will begin the season as Boston's primary catcher after posting a .280/.333/.425 slash line with 13 homers and eight steals in 126 games during 2024.
