Joe underwent surgery for testicular cancer Tuesday, the outfielder announced on his personal Instagram page.
EDGE Analysis
The surgery explains why Joe left camp for unknown reasons back in late February. Joe says that the issue was caught early and is curable. He'll be recovering for the foreseeable future.

Joe has left camp to attend to a personal issue, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joe, a non-roster invitee, should be considered out indefinitely. The 27-year-old broke camp with San Francisco in 2019 after being selected in the Rule 5 draft, though he was given just 15 at-bats before the Giants made up their mind not to keep him around. In 49 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, Joe hit .294/.385/.494.

Joe was designated for assignment by the Giants on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Joe failed to capitalize on his limited opportunities this season, managing just a single hit in 15 at-bats. As a Rule 5 pick, he'll have to be offered back to the Giants if he clears waivers. The move makes room on the roster for Tyler Austin, acquired in a trade from the Twins on Monday.

Joe is starting Friday's game against San Diego, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Joe will draw another start in left field with the Giants set to face another lefty. He went 0-for-1 but reached base on a walk during Thursday's season opener.

Joe started and went 0-for-1 with a walk in Thursday's Opening Day loss to San Diego.
EDGE Analysis
Joe got the nod in left field against a southpaw, but was lifted for Gerardo Parra once the Padres went to a right-handed reliever. This deployment signals a platoon situation for the rookie and his veteran counterpart. That said, the Giants are slated to face two more lefties Friday and Saturday, so Joe could find his name in the starting lineup for both contests.

Joe will be present on San Francisco's Opening Day roster, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joe was acquired by the Giants from the Reds last week but managed to make enough of an impression to grab a spot on the 25-man roster. The 26-year-old provides unique versatility, as he should serve as the No. 3 catcher behind Buster Posey and Erik Kratz, and can also play both corner infield and outfield spots. It remains unclear how much playing time awaits Joe, but he'll get his first taste of the majors after slashing .299/.408/.527 between Double-A and Triple-A last season.

Joe went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Monday's exhibition loss to the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Joe started in left field and finished the contest at first base, which could be a preview of his utility role this season. The Rule 5 pick from Cincinnati needs to stick on the 25-man roster in order to remain a Giant, and it's looking like that will happen as we near the start of the regular season. Joe can play both corner infield and outfield spots, and can even serve as an emergency catcher. The 26-year-old slashed .299/.408/.527 over two levels in 2018, which make him an intriguing player to watch in deep leagues in the event injuries or struggling starters open up a window of playing time.

Joe was traded to the Giants from the Reds in exchange for pitcher Jordan Johnson, John Fay of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joe was a Rule 5 draft pick for the Reds, and was formerly in the Dodgers' organization. He appeared both at Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2018, hitting a combined .299/.408/.527. He'll have to remain on the major-league roster, or else he will be offered back to the Dodgers.

Joe will focus on catching during spring training, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rule 5 pick has experience at first base, second base, third base and outfield from his time in the minors. However, as was initially speculated, the biggest draw was his recent work at catcher. Joe will look to crack the Opening Day roster as a third catcher for Cincinnati, though his additional defensive versatility certainly won't hurt him. He'll need to impress with the bat against major-league pitching, however, as he has just 188 plate appearances above Double-A to his name.

Joe was selected by the Reds with the sixth pick in the Rule 5 draft.
EDGE Analysis
Joe has played first base, third base and was recently tried at catcher, which might be what interested Cincinnati. The Reds will bring him to spring training and see what they have in him, but it is possible he will be returned to the Dodgers if he fails to impress in camp. The 26-year-old hit .294/.385/.494 with six home runs in 188 plate appearances at Triple-A last year.
