Cowser was a thorn in the Rockies' side all game, stealing second and scoring in the second inning before crossing the plate again in the sixth and seventh. The 25-year-old is just 6-for-30 since the All-Star break but has swiped three bags during that stretch. For the year, he's slashing .217/.278/.404 with eight home runs, 18 RBI, 18 runs scored and six stolen bases across just 180 plate appearances.

The 25-year-old outfielder has provided the Orioles with a boost since coming off the injured back on June 3 -- he's slashing a productive .240/.291/.531 with seven round trippers, seven doubles, 16 RBI and one stolen base over his last 103 plate appearances. Cowser began the season as Baltimore's leadoff batter but has hit sixth or lower in the lineup in all but one of his last 27 games, although it's worth noting current No. 1 hitter Jackson Holliday is struggling with a .543 OPS across his last 21 outings.

Per Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun, the Orioles set a franchise record Friday with 14 extra-base hits, three of which came off the bat of Cowser. The 25-year-old outfielder also set a career-high with four runs scored as he contributed to six of the Orioles' 22 runs in a blowout victory. Cowser has reached base safely in eight of his last nine games, and over that span he has gone 11-for-32 (.344) with five doubles, eight runs scored, three home runs and 10 RBI.

Cowser has homered in three straight games. His long ball came in the sixth inning Thursday, giving the Orioles a lead they wouldn't relinquish. The outfielder is struggling a bit for consistency at the plate, but the power is there. He's posted a .210/.269/.532 slash line with six homers, 10 RBI, seven runs scored, two doubles and one stolen base over 67 plate appearances this season, but he could be held back by a 34.3 percent strikeout rate. He's avoided striking out in each of the last two games, but Cowser will need to continue improving his plate discipline without sacrificing power.

Cowser took Zack Littell deep to right-center field in the fifth to put the Orioles ahead 2-1 and that proved to be enough for the win. Cowser struck out his other three times up and now has struck out 12 times over his last 18 at-bats. He's homered three times since returning from the injured list June 3, but strikeouts have been a glaring issue for Cowser as he continues to get re-acclimated following an extended absence.
