Figueroa has taken a job as a baseball development assistant in the Rays' front office, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
With that, Figueroa has presumably closed the book on his playing career. He's only 29 and appeared in the majors in each of the past three seasons, but apparently he felt this opportunity was best for him long term. Figueroa played nine professional seasons, walking nearly 100 more times than he struck out in 862 career games in the minors.

Figueroa was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Friday, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Figueroa was DFA'd on Friday, along with Cole Gillespie as the Marlins began making roster moves after their 7-person trade with the Padres. Throughout the 2016 season, Figueroa has bounced around quite a bit, playing for each of the Pirates, Dodgers and Marlins on their Triple-A affiliates. Even though he has never shown the ability to hit at the major league level, Figueroa could latch on with another organization looking for some infield depth.

Figueroa signed with the Marlins on Saturday and was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old's defensive versatility -- he can play shortstop, second base and third -- has earned him an opportunity in the Marlins' organization following his departure from Los Angeles, but he will remain in the minors for the time being. Figueroa has hit just .208/.250/.286 in parts of three major league seasons.

Figueroa declined an outright assignment on Tuesday and became a free agent, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.
EDGE Analysis
Designated for assignment on Friday, Figueroa went through his waiver period unclaimed, but instead of accepting an outright assignment by the Dodgers, he elected to become a free agent. The 29-year-old has spent the majority of his 2016 season with Triple-A Indianapolis, a Pirates' minor league affiliate, where he compiled a .307/.333/.453 slash line over 20 games. Given his relatively young age and history of success in the minors, it's likely he'll get scooped up by another organization in need of infield depth.

Figueroa was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Friday, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
A waiver acquisition from Pittsburgh, Figueroa's tenure on the Dodgers' 40-man roster lasted just over a week. Figueroa is a .208/.250/.286 career hitter at the major league level and was 4-for-26 with the Pirates this year, but he can play three infield positions and may appeal to another organization looking for depth.

Figueroa was claimed by the Dodgers on Tuesday and optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City, SB Nation's Eric Stephen reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran infielder was recently DFA'd by the Pirates on Friday, but it did not take long for a team to pick him up. The Dodgers swooped in to pick up Figueroa, who can play multiple spots around the infield. Figueroa will start his time with the Dodgers' organization at Triple-A, but he could eventually get promoted should the Dodgers suffer an injury at either second or third base.

Figueroa has been designated for assignment by the Pirates Friday, Stephen Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old has been struggling of late in Triple-A Indianapolis. His batting average has fallen from .372 to .307 over the past 10 games. Figueroa, a career .291 hitter in the minors, has a good knack for getting on base while limiting strikeouts. However, he doesn't bring much to the table for power or speed.

Figueroa was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, Travis Sawchik of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
EDGE Analysis
Figueroa's departure back to the minors corresponds with Rob Scahill being recalled and Arquimedes Caminero returning from the DL. The majority of Figueroa's game-action came during pinch hit appearances since his recall on May 13 and as a result, he failed to gain much momentum, going 4-for-17 with no extra base hits. The 28-year-old third baseman will presumably stay with Triple-A Indianapolis as long as Pirates' everyday guys, Jung Ho Kang and David Freese, remain healthy.

Figueroa is in the lineup and batting eighth for Monday's game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Figueroa will get a rare start at third base while Jung Ho Kang gets a day off to rest. The 28-year-old from Tallahassee is just 4-for-20 with two RBI and one stolen base on the season.

Figueroa will start at second base Saturday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
He'll get a shot against Yu Darvish with Josh Harrison (flu) still sidelined. Figueroa was hitting .340 in 47 Triple-A at-bats before his recall and went 1-for-2 Friday.
