Lewis announced Friday that he has ended his playing career and has accepted a position in the Rangers' front office, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis, 38, spent 11 seasons in the majors with the Rangers, Tigers and Athletics, with nine of those years coming in Texas. He wraps up his career with a 77-72 record, 4.47 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 233 appearances (195 starts).

Lewis will start Game 3 of the ALDS against the Blue Jays on Sunday, Rangers VP of Comm. John Blake reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis will have over a week off to rest up for this one, as he wrapped up his regular season last Saturday with 6.1 innings without allowing an earned run. He lasted seven innings in both of his regular season starts against Toronto this year and struck out a season-high seven the first time out, so he'll look for another strong outing in Sunday's Game 3.

Lewis (6-4) lost after allowing seven runs on seven hits and one walk with no strikeouts in 1.1 innings during Sunday's 7-1 loss to the A's.
EDGE Analysis
After starting off with a scoreless first inning, Lewis went off the rails in the second, exiting after Ryon Healy's two-run homer made it 7-0 Oakland. Lewis has now lost all three of his starts since coming off the disabled list earlier this month, and appears to still be shaking off some rust after missing more than two months. Sunday's outing raised his ERA from 3.40 to 3.93 and was the first time in 18 starts this year that he failed to complete five innings. He'll look to bounce back Saturday against the Rays at home.

Lewis allowed three runs on three hits and five walks across 5.1 innings in Sunday's loss to the Athletics. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis struggled with his command Sunday, tossing just 52 percent of his pitches for strikes, and he allowed the A's to take the lead for good with a two-run rally in the sixth inning before he was pulled from the game. Lewis is a candidate to nail down the third spot in the rotation during the postseason, but he will need to shake off the rust, as he was making just his second start since late June on Sunday. He will have the opportunity to get back on track Saturday against this same Oakland club.

Lewis fell to 6-2 after allowing three runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks with five strikeouts in 5.1 innings during Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis looked a little rusty after spending most of the summer on the disabled list with a shoulder injury, surrendering a trio of solo homers in his first start since June 21. He was also working on a pitch count, as he was removed after just 86 pitches. The 37-year-old was pitching some of the best baseball of his career before landing on the DL, going 6-1 with a 3.21 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 15 starts, so he could offer a boost to fantasy owners down the stretch. He'll look to rebound in a friendly matchup against the last-place A's at home next Sunday.

The Rangers activated Lewis (shoulder) from the disabled list Sunday, according to Rangers VP of Comm. John Blake.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis is ready to return to action after missing over two months with his shoulder injury. He will jump right into the Rangers' rotation Sunday and take the ball against the Angels, a team he has recorded two wins against this season but still tagged him for six earned runs in their last matchup.

Lewis (shoulder) is listed as the probable starter for Sunday's game against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The 37-year-old was eyeing a Saturday return earlier in the week but will instead toe the rubber Sunday opposite Jered Weaver in his first start since June 21. Lewis was very useful in 15 starts before hitting the shelf, going 6-1 with a 3.21 ERA and 1.02 WHIP, but he was knocked around for 20 hits in three rehab outings (spanning 11 innings) so it may be best to wait and see in mixed leagues.

Lewis (shoulder) hopes to rejoin the Rangers' rotation Saturday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis was tagged for four earned runs over five innings Monday in his third rehab start, but he was able to throw 66 pitches in the game and did not report any issues afterward, so he should be ready to go this weekend. Lewis' next outing could be pushed to Sunday with fellow starter Cole Hamels currently lined up to start Saturday, but Hamels could get an extra day of rest after being touched up in his last two outings, which would allow Lewis to take the ball Saturday as expected.

Lewis (shoulder) will make another rehab start Monday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis was knocked around in his last rehab start Tuesday, so the Rangers want him to throw once more in the minors before bringing him back from the disabled list. Lewis did throw 60 pitches his last time out, so as long as he is able throw a similar number or more and hold his own Monday, there is a good chance his next appearance would come with the big club.

Lewis (shoulder) admitted that he's still struggling to find his rhythm on the mound after a poor second rehab start Tuesday, RYan Posner of MLB.com,/a> reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis had been targeting a return to the rotation this weekend but the poor results Tuesday may alter those plans. "I'm just trying to get arm strength up, trying to get my pitch count up," Lewis said. "Of course you don't want to go out and give up runs or give up hits, or anything like that. I kind of feel like I'm still in Spring Training form right now. I just don't feel like I'm very sharp."
