Ege has signed a minor league contract with the Angels, Baseball America reports.

Ege allowed just one run in 13 appearances out of the big league bullpen last season, holding lefty batters to a .208/.208/.417 line (compared to .500/.548/.727 against right-handed batters). Ege was initially called up after Martin Prado was placed on the paternity list, but he managed to stick around a bit longer than expected. That being said, it comes as no surprise that he'll head back to New Orleans given that the left-hander gave up four runs on eight hits in a mere three innings pitched with the major league club. He'll likely continue to act as pitching depth for the parent club and could be called back up if Miami is in need of a lefty in the bullpen, although he'll have to vastly improve his performance against major league hitters if he wants to pitch very many innings with the Marlins going forward.
