Coco Crisp sent the Oakland faithful home happy on Thursday by cracking a 12th-inning walkoff homer to lead the A's to a 3-2 win over the Mariners. He crushed Hector Noesi's second pitch of the inning, a fat 93 mph fastball, over the right field wall. Crisp's homer was the story, but the underrated center fielder had begun stuffing the box score before the game entered extra frames. He finished 1-for-3 with three walks, two runs scored and his second steal of the season. Crisp had a career year in 2013, hitting 22 round-trippers and swiping 21 bags. Another 20/20 season appears to be in the offing for the 34-year-old.

Coco Crisp went 2-for-4 in a losing effort against the Cubs in Cactus League action on Sunday. Crisp also walked in the game, raising his spring slash to an impressive .343/.511/.457. He has always exhibited tantalizing upside, but his inability to stay on the field can drive a fantasy owner crazy.

Coco Crisp doubled twice in four at-bats as the Athletics fell to the Padres 6-5 on Tuesday. Crisp was hitting .077 entering the day. He had a career year in 2013, hitting 22 home runs and stealing 21 bases. While he should continue stealing bases, it's tough to see him hitting 15-plus home runs again, considering his home park and the fact that he is 34 years old.

Athletics signed OF Coco Crisp to a two-year contract extension. The financials of the deal, which also includes a vesting option for 2017, aren't yet known. Crisp is coming off an impressive 2013 campaign that saw him put together a .261/.335/.444 batting line with a career-high 22 homers and 21 steals. He's 34 and has had plenty of injury issues over the years, which makes the deal risky. However, Crisp should continue to produce as long as he stays away from the DL.

Athletics exercised OF Coco Crisp's $7.5 million option for 2014. It was a formality after Crisp posted his first ever 20/20 season and then batted .389/.455/.611 in the ALDS. Crisp's agent, Steve Comte, has spoken to the A's about a long-term deal, though it's not clear if there's any momentum toward an agreement. Oakland might have some trepidation given Crisp's age (34) and past injury issues.

Coco Crisp's agent Steve Comte said Wednesday that he has spoken to the A's about a long-term deal. Crisp will be back with the A's in 2014 on a $7.5 million club option, but he will be eligible for free agency heading into 2015. "Coco has said he likes playing in Oakland, and he's a team leader and a face of the franchise," Comte told the San Francisco Chronicle. It's not clear if there's any momentum toward an agreement.

Athletics general manager Billy Beane revealed Friday that the club will pick up Coco Crisp's $7.5 million option for 2014. It was an easy decision after Crisp had his first ever 20/20 season and then batted .389/.455/.611 in the ALDS. Crisp will turn 34 in a few weeks but obviously still has plenty left in the tank as long as he can remain healthy.

Coco Crisp went 4-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored in Tuesday's loss to the Tigers. Crisp led off the game with a triple and tacked on singles in three of his next four trips to the plate. In the two games in Detroit, Crisp wound up with seven hits in nine at-bats, scoring four runs and stealing a base in the process. Jed Lowrie also had a big day at the plate for the A's with an RBI single and a two-run homer. It wasn't enough, though, as Oakland fell shot in the slugfest.

Coco Crisp indicated that he dealt with some muscle cramping late in Game 1 of the ALDS against the Tigers on Friday. In his postgame comments, Crisp said that he didn't expect it to be an issue moving forward, and wouldn't keep him out of the lineup for Saturday's Game 2. He was a pivotal cog in the A's offense during Friday's loss, drawing three walks in his four plate appearances.
