Mets released LHP Chuck James. James, 30, didn't pitch poorly for Triple-A Buffalo, posting a 4.57 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 22/9 K/BB ratio over 21 2/3 innings, but the Mets decided they'd rather have Chris Schwinden back. He should be able to catch on elsewhere.
