Morel went 3-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 7-2 win over St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
The performance marked Morel's fourth three-hit game of the campaign, and his first since June 7. Since July 31, Morel is 12-for-39 (.308) with three home runs and 20 strikeouts. He's slashing .222/.284/.409 on the season and has been relegated to a short-side platoon role.

Morel will start at designated hitter and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Angels, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays appear to be viewing the right-handed-hitting Morel exclusively as a short-side platoon player; each of his last six starts have come against left-handed pitching. Even as a streaming option against lefties, Morel hasn't been providing much value, as he's slashed just .181/.245/.330 with three home runs in 102 plate appearances versus southpaws heading into Wednesday.

Morel went 1-for-2 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Morel has fallen primarily into a short-side platoon since the start of May, but he drew his second straight start with a lefty on the mound Tuesday. He led off the second inning with his seventh home run of the season and second in his last five starts.

Wed 6/18/25 11:32 PM

Morel went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 12-8 win over Baltimore.
EDGE Analysis
Although the righty-hitting Morel has fallen into a short-side platoon with the switch-hitting Jake Mangum in left field, the former has been highly effective in this role of late. Morel has just 39 plate appearances over his last 15 outings, but he's slashing .297/.333/.595 with two home runs, five doubles, six RBI and seven runs scored during this period. Morel has a .772 OPS versus righties as opposed to a .597 OPS against lefties, so perhaps manager Kevin Cash will consider finding ways to get Morel's bat into the lineup more often if he stays hot.

Morel went 3-for-3 with a double, two homers, three runs scored and four RBI during Saturday's 11-10 loss to the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Getting a start against lefty Ryan Weathers (head/arm), Morel accounted for 10 total bases in only three at-bats before being replaced for defensive reasons by Josh Lowe in the top of the eighth inning. Morel's two home runs brought his season total up to five, and his four RBI represented his first in 23 games.

Morel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old made three straight starts Wednesday through Friday while the Rays faced off against left-handed pitchers, but he'll be on the bench Sunday for the second day in a row against Chad Patrick. Morel appears to have fallen into a short-side platoon role, and his chances of regaining steady playing time don't appear to be strong with the Rays expected to get Josh Lowe (oblique) back from the injured list during the upcoming week.

Morel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morel went 2-for-7 over the first two games of the series while making a pair of starts in left field against left-handed starters Max Fried and Ryan Yarbrough, but he'll retreat to the bench for the finale with right-hander Will Warren toeing the rubber for New York. Though the right-handed-hitting Morel should still see at least semi-regular playing time against right-handed pitching, he could be at risk of moving into more of a pure platoon role once one or more of Josh Lowe (oblique), Jake Mangum (groin) and Jonny DeLuca (shoulder) return from the injured list.

Morel is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morel was in the lineup for the first two games of the series, going hitless in seven trips to the dish. He'll take a seat in Thursday's series finale as Travis Jankowski mans left field for the Rays.

Fri 4/25/25 2:01 AM

Morel went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and an additional RBI in Thursday's extra-inning win over the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
The slugging left fielder hit just two homers in his first 21 games of the season, but he's now smashed a big fly in each of his past two outings. Morel has quietly been effective over his last 15 contests, during which he's hitting a healthy .264 with three round trippers, nine RBI, nine runs scored and two stolen bases across 53 at-bats. Although he likely won't hit for a high average, Morel should continue to be a decent source of power and speed for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.

Morel isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
After going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Friday's series opener, Morel will take a seat while Kameron Misner, Chandler Simpson and Jake Mangum start across Tampa Bay's outfield Saturday.
