Chris Woodward has elected free agency. Woodward was outrighted off the 40-man roster recently after spending 11 games with the Blue Jays this season. The 35-year-old career utility player has appeared in just 52 big league games since the beginning of the 2008 season.

Blue Jays recalled INF Chris Woodward from Triple-A Las Vegas. Woodward will give the Jays some infield depth while Yunel Escobar nurses a wrist injury. He went 0-for-4 at the plate in a stint with the big club earlier this season.
