Chris Tillman won't return to the majors this year.
Tillman registered a disappointing 5.52 ERA in 13 starts with the Orioles this season and a 5.19 ERA in 15 starts at Triple-A Norfolk. "Let him rest from the season and hopefully (he'll) be ready to come in and compete next year for a spot," O's manager Buck Showalter said. "Overall, thinking about all the factors, it was in his best interest to be done with the season."

Chris Tillman didn't last long Thursday, allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks over just 2 2/3 innings in a loss to the White Sox.
Tillman was pretty good last weekend against the Blue Jays, but he's allowed 13 runs - 11 earned - in his two other outings since being recalled. He now has a 5.52 ERA and 1.65 WHIP on the season, and given that Brad Bergesen tossed 4 1/3 innings of scoreless relief after Tillman, it's possible the two could switch spots the next time out. If they don't, Tillman will face the A's next week.

Despite injuries to Jake Arrieta and Zach Britton, Orioles manager Buck Showalter wouldn't commit to Chris Tillman getting more than one start.
Tillman will get the ball Saturday against the Blue Jays, and it sound like he must perform well in order to remain in the rotation. "That's there for him if he seizes the opportunity, very much like Simon," Showalter said. The O's could put Jo-Jo Reyes in the rotation if Tillman struggles.

Orioles recalled RHP Chris Tillman from Triple-A Norfolk.
Tillman will get the ball Saturday against the Blue Jays, taking the injured Jake Arrieta's spot in the rotation. The right-hander allowed seven runs over 4 1/3 innings in a spot start against the Yankees last week and has an ugly 5.16 ERA and 1.64 WHIP in 52 1/3 total innings this year. He can safely be ignored in fantasy leagues.

Chris Tillman is likely to be recalled from the minors to start Saturday against the Blue Jays.
Tillman was optioned to the minor leagues at the end of July after allowing seven runs over 4 1/3 innings in a spot start against the Yankees. He has an ugly 5.16 ERA and 1.64 WHIP in 52 1/3 innings this year, and should be avoided for fantasy purposes.

Chris Tillman was smoked for seven runs (five earned) over 4 1/3 innings as the Orioles dropped the first game of a doubleheader against the Yankees on Saturday.
Tillman allowed eight hits (including a two-run homer by Nick Swisher) while fanning six and walking one. Needless to say, he didn't do much to convince the Orioles that this was anything more than a spot-assignment. Look for him to head back to the minors immediately.

Orioles recalled RHP Chris Tillman from Triple-A Norfolk.
Tillman will get the ball Saturday in the first game of the doubleheader. The righty has held a 4.17 ERA in 10 starts for Triple-A Norfolk since being demoted in late May, though he also has an uninspiring 5.8 K/9 rate. He'll likely be sent right back down after the start.

Jen Royle of MASN reports that Chris Tillman has left Triple-A Norfolk and will start the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.
As expected. Tillman has held a 4.17 ERA in 10 starts for Triple-A Norfolk since being demoted in late May, though he also has an uninspiring 5.8 K/9 rate. He's likely to be sent right back down after the spot start.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Chris Tillman is the leading candidate to start the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.
Zach Britton will be promoted to start the second game. Tillman hasn't been heard from since being demoted at the end of May after posting a 4.69 ERA over 10 starts with the O's. He's held a 4.17 ERA in 10 starts for Triple-A Norfolk but has just a 5.8 K/9 rate. It would almost surely just be a spot start for the righty.
