Stratton recorded his first career save in Tuesday's win against the Pirates with two runs on six hits to go along with four strikeouts and a walk over four innings.
EDGE Analysis
Stratton was never under very much stress, pitching the last four innings of a game after his team was up by nine runs when he came out of the bullpen. Still, the long relief appearance was enough to give the reliever his first career save. Don't expect the saves to become consistent however, as Stratton has still spent most of this season as a starter for Triple-A Fresno and will see more time in that role or as a long relief pitcher with the Giants than as a late-inning reliever.

Stratton was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander impressed in his last two starts with the River Cats, so he'll return to the majors to replace utility man Orlando Calixte on the active roster. Stratton will likely fill a long-relief role while he's up in the majors, although he could make a spot start if Johnny Cueto (finger) is unable to make his next scheduled start.

Stratton was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Andrew Baggarly of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Miguel Gomez was called up in a corresponding move and will bolster the team's infield depth in the short term. Stratton would not have been available to pitch again before the All-Star break after he threw 6.2 innings (106 pitches) during a spot start against the Tigers on Thursday.

Stratton gave up five runs on six hits and five walks while recording one strikeout in 6.2 innings against the Tigers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
He was getting an emergency start with Johnny Cueto (ear) sidelined, and this outcome was hardly surprising, as Stratton is better suited for long relief. Look for him to move back to move back to the bullpen after the All-Star break.

Stratton will start Thursday against the Tigers to replace Johnny Cueto (ear), who was scratched, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has allowed five earned runs in 3.1 innings of relief work for the big club this year but will take the emergency turn in the rotation. Stratton posted a 5.71 ERA in 12 starts for Triple-A Sacramento and probably doesn't have more rotation turns in his future without several dominoes falling. The substitution drastically improves Detroit's offensive outlook for Thursday's matchup.

Stratton was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Amy Gutierrez of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
This will be Stratton's second stint with the Giants this season. While he hasn't excelled with Sacramento, he's worked primarily as a starter there, so he should be able to offer length out of the bullpen while he's with the Giants. Daniel Slania was sent back to the minors in a corresponding roster move.

Stratton was optioned back to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Chris Haft of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stratton was sent back to Sacramento to clear room on the roster for lefty-arm Josh Osich. He appeared in just two games during his brief major-league stint, allowing five runs while striking out three and walking two through 3.1 innings of relief. Stratton will head to Sacramento where he'll continue to provide a long relief option should the Giants need one.

Stratton was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Amy Gutierrez of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has struggled with Sacramento so far this season (7.84 ERA in two starts), but he can provide length out of the bullpen with Ty Blach set to take over for Madison Bumgarner (ribs, shoulder) in the Giants' rotation.

Stratton was optioned to minor league spring training Sunday, according to CSN Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic.
EDGE Analysis
Stratton performed well in his brief Cactus League stint, finishing with a 1.80 ERA with six strikeouts and no walks in five innings of work. He had a shot at making the club as a bullpen arm, but the Giants obviously felt comfortable with the relievers they have in camp. Stratton should get another shot in majors should a spot open up after getting a brief stint as a long man in 2016 (3.60 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in 10 innings).

Stratton could make the Opening Day roster with a strong spring.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants have their starting rotation and the majority of their bullpen settled prior to pitchers and catchers reporting, but they will have one or two fluid spots in the bullpen up for grabs. Stratton is one of the young arms competing for one of those spots during spring training. If he were to make it, it would likely be in a long relief role.
