Shaw was placed on the minor-league disabled list Friday with a groin strain, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury isn't expected to be serious but require a stint on the disabled list for Shaw nonetheless. It's unclear at this point if the 24-year-old will miss more than the minimum seven days, but given that it's a muscle injury it wouldn't be surprising if he were held out a bit longer.

Shaw went 3-for-4 with two home runs Wednesday for Triple-A Sacramento in Las Vegas.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw had struck out nine times in his previous 14 at-bats, so this was a much needed slump buster. His .263/.320/547 slash line and seven home runs in 103 plate appearances is on par with what most were expecting in his return trip to the Pacific Coast League, but his 38.8 percent strikeout rate is very concerning, specifically regarding his short-term prospects. He will need to get the strikeouts under control before he can be viewed as a viable option in the big-league outfield.

Shaw was reassigned to minor-league camp Monday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Shaw is one of the team's better prospects, he was always expected to open the season in the minors given the Giants' outfield depth ahead of him. The 24-year-old will return to Triple-A Sacramento to open the season, where he hit a respectable .289/.328/.530 with 18 homers in 88 games last season. If he continues to excel with the River Cats, look for Shaw to possibly make his major-league debut something later this summer.

Shaw (shoulder) will DH and bat fifth in the order for Saturday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old prospect will be making his spring debut after putting together a slash line of .289/.328/.530 with 18 home runs and 50 RBI in 88 games with Triple-A Sacramento in 2017. He is coming off a minor shoulder injury that sidelined him during the Arizona Fall League but he should be fully healthy heading into this spring. Even with an impressive showing in camp, Shaw will likely return to the Triple-A level once the regular season starts, but keep an eye out for his major-league debut later this summer.

Shaw (shoulder) received a non-roster invite to the Giants' spring training.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw is one of the top position players in the Giants' depleted farm system. The outfielder will get a big-league look in spring training but is still expected to open the year with Triple-A Sacramento, according to manager Bruce Bochy. He's a candidate to make his major-league debut sometime during 2018, especially if he puts together a strong spring training performance.

Manager Bruce Bochy said he expects Shaw (shoulder) to begin next season with Triple-A Sacramento, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bochy noted that he believes Shaw is getting close to making his big-league debut. The 24-year-old held his own following a promotion to Triple-A in May last year, hitting .289/.328/.530 with 18 homers and 50 RBI in 88 games. He's one of the team's top prospects and should make his debut later in 2018 if he continues to perform well in the upper minors.

Shaw is currently on the shelf with a shoulder injury at the Arizona Fall League, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw has played in five games during the fall league thus far, going 3-for-19 at the plate with three walks. Although he's dealing with a minor shoulder ailment, this shouldn't have an affect on his status for the upcoming season, barring any significant setback.

Shaw is slashing .299/.322/.549 in 37 games since being promoted to Triple-A Sacramento on May 24.
EDGE Analysis
The slugging outfielder has nearly produced identical numbers following his promotion to that of his time with Double-A Richmond (.301/.390/.511 in 37 games). Giants general manager Bobby Evans stated that a 2017 appearance in the majors is unlikely because Shaw isn't required to be placed on the 40-man roster until next season, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. That said, he didn't rule out a possible promotion if his bat forces the issue. The 2015 first-round draft pick is trending in the right direction offensively, making him an appealing asset in dynasty formats.

Shaw has been promoted to Triple-A Sacramento.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw has been on fire for Double-A Richmond, slashing .301/.390/.511 with six home runs and 29 RBI. Despite being drafted as a first baseman, the 23-year-old has played a good amount of left field this season, suggesting a possible call-up if his offensive surge can continue at the next level.

Shaw is hitting .333/.317/.538 in 39 at-bats since being promoted to Double-A Richmond.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old first baseman hit .285/.357/.544 with 16 homers in 305 plate appearances at High-A prior to his promotion, and has never posted a K-rate higher than 23 percent as a professional. The first base rule applies, as Shaw will have to hit all the way up the ladder to profile as a big league regular, but so far he looks like the real deal.
