The former first-rounder made two appearances at the major league level in 2015, allowing two runs over 4.0 innings. However, he spent the entire 2016 campaign in the minors. He retires with a career 4.27 ERA and 1.38 WHIP across all levels.

Reed was traded from the Dodgers to the Marlins on Wednesday. Reed was moved in a minor deal that brought Grant Dayton back to the Dodgers. He was assigned to Triple-A New Orleans following the trade, and will serve as organizational depth out of the bullpen for the Marlins.

Reed was demoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City to Double-A Tulsa in May, and in three appearances since that time, he's allowed 12 earned runs in just three innings of work. Ouch. Reed had a 1.13 overall ERA as recently as May 16, but he's obviously either regressed or is nursing an injury.

Reed was promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City after posting a 0.77 ERA and 13:5 K:BB in 11.2 innings of relief for Double-A Tulsa. No longer thought of as a starter, Reed could carve out a nice career as a reliever. He should get a look in LA at some point this year.

He's surely headed back there this season where he will need to perform well to avoid being converted to a bullpen role.

He is considered one of the better pitching prospects in the Angels system, and could find his way to the majors as a September call-up or at some point in the future.

Dodgers left-handed pitching prospect Chris Reed struck out seven batters as part of six shutout innings on Wednesday for Double-A Chattanooga. The London-born, California-raised Reed has now made 48 appearances (43 starts) for the Chattanooga Lookouts, and could be in line for a promotion to Triple-A. The Dodgers have a loaded pitching rotation, so it is unlikely that Reed will make an appearance for the Dodgers before 2015.
