Chris Perez notched his 24th save in Friday's win over the Twins. Perez had a fantastic first half on his way to an All-Star berth, but he's really been scuffling after the break, as he came into the night with a 7.56 ERA and 1.80 WHIP while blowing two of four saves chances. He had a clean inning in this one, though, so hopefully this is what he needs to get back on the right track.

Chris Perez finished the first half with a 2.43 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 21 saves in 22 opportunities. This is probably a good time to sell high, because both closer and team are overachieving. As for Perez, he has a 4.69 xFIP and a poor 22/15 K/BB rate 33 1/3 innings. If his peripherals remain the same in the second half, his ERA is going to spike.

Indians activated RHP Chris Perez from the bereavement list. Perez was away from the team for a couple days due to the death of his grandmother. With a 2.37 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 19 saves, he stands an excellent chance of being named to his first All-Star team Sunday.
