Week 16 Waiver Wire: H2H Category Streamers rotoballer.com Fri 7/20/18 8:11 AM
I like to consider myself a pioneer of the streaming approach. I won a league about seven years ago completely ignoring saves and just stacking up the starts each week. While streaming is undoubtedly more directly associated with pitching, there's plenty of value in streaming for offense as well.
Maybe you have a stacked roster and you can't drop anyone. But for those of us with a couple of guys on the roster fringes, it's never too early to look into targeting a specific player or two to gai[...]
Midseason Review: Kyle Bishop's Bold Predictions rotoballer.com Thu 7/19/18 4:15 AM
In my first three seasons of writing this piece, I did well enough. Always a few clunkers, but generally nailing a couple and being in general vicinity on a couple more.
2018 has not been so kind.
The spirit of the exercise is lighthearted even though it's tilted toward failure if you're being truly bold. Having said that, these are some wack-ass predictions. Please hold your laughter until the end of the program. Thank you.

Power Risers/Fallers for Week 15: Buy or Sell? rotoballer.com Thu 7/12/18 3:30 AM
Welcome to Week 15 of the 2018 MLB season and a new week of our investigation into the steepest power trenders in baseball, whether those trends are positive or negative.
As the season inches ever closer to the All-Star break, the window of opportunity to snag a surging slugger or to deal a down-and-out disappointment grows shorter with every plate appearance. Getting the jump on identifying the catalytic variables and telling trends in these player's recent offensive performances could be th[...]
Chris Davis Sitting For Game 1 Of Doubleheader On Monday rotoballer.com Mon 7/9/18 8:54 AM
Baltimore Orioles slugger Chris Davis will sit in the first game of Monday's doubleheader against the New York Yankees. There's a good chance he will play in the second game, so lineups should be monitored. Trey Mancini will cover first base in his stead, and Mark Trumbo will serve as designated hitter. Regardless, Davis hasn't been a quality fantasy option all year, as evidenced by the slugger's .157 batting average and 106 strikeouts. The Orioles will face off against CC Sabathia, who has [...]
Chris Davis Goes Yard For Second Straight Game Sunday rotoballer.com Sun 7/8/18 7:17 PM
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis flexed his muscle for the second straight game in Sunday's 10-1 loss to the Twins, going 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two strikeouts. Davis' ninth bomb of the season came in the ninth inning, taking Matt Magill deep into the right-field seats. [...]
Statcast Hitter Risers/Fallers - xwOBA w/RISP (Week 14) rotoballer.com Mon 7/2/18 4:00 AM
Statcast is a fun tool, at least if you love stats. If you didn't, you wouldn't be reading this, nor would you spend hours poring through the waiver wire or farm system reports in search of the next big thing to hit the majors. Only baseball brings that kind of unbridled passion for a past-time (sorry NFL folk, but it's true). [...]
Chris Davis Hits Home Run In Second Straight Game Thursday rotoballer.com Thu 6/28/18 7:39 PM
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's 4-2 extra-inning loss to the Mariners. Davis took a fourth-inning Mike Leake fastball deep to left-center field for his seventh HR of the season and his second in the last two games. Davis is hitting just .155 this season so he will need to do more than string two good games together before fantasy players can even think of trusting him.
Chris Davis Obliterates Three-Run Home Run Wednesday rotoballer.com Wed 6/27/18 8:12 PM
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis had a big day at the plate on Wednesday against the Mariners, going 2-for-5 with a single and a three-run home run. Davis destroyed an eighth-inning Alex Colome fastball out onto Eutaw Street for his sixth HR of the season. The power-hitting lefty has struggled mightily this season, hitting just .152 with 23 RBI. While his power has made him fantasy relevant before, he currently holds little to no value unless he can start to hit more consistently.
Chris Davis Flexes Muscle In Return To Lineup Friday rotoballer.com Sat 6/23/18 9:15 AM
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, two RBI and a strikeout in Friday's 10-7 extra-inning win over the Braves. Davis smashed an opposite-field HR off of Sean Newcomb in the fifth inning for his fifth HR of the season. He had sat the last eight games in an attempt to figure things out at the plate, as he has posted a poor .152/.233/.242 slash line with 87 strikeouts and 17 RBI in 58 games. Davis' elite power has proved valuable in fantasy in the past, bu[...]
