Chris Capuano (lat) thinks he'll spend the minimum amount of time on the disabled list. Capuano was placed on the DL Tuesday with a left lat strain but will resume throwing on Thursday. It's not clear whether he'll require a rehab assignment before coming back. He's eligible to return on June 14.

Dodgers placed LHP Chris Capuano on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 30, with a left lat strain. Capuano's injury was originally classified as a triceps issue, but apparently it's his lat that's the problem. The Dodgers had anticipated him avoiding the DL, but evidently the MRI revealed worse news than expected. It's not clear how long he'll be sidelined. Stephen Fife will remain in the rotation while Capuano is out.

Chris Capuano will undergo an MRI on his ailing triceps. The Dodgers think Capuano will be fine, but they want to make sure. If the MRI comes back clean, he will be cleared to start on Saturday against the Braves. Stephen Fife is making a start in Capuano's place on Monday.

Chris Capuano is expected to be scratched from his start Monday against the Padres. Capuano suffered a strained triceps muscle in his pitching arm in Wednesday's loss and is considered day-to-day. The Dodgers will call up Stephen Fife from Triple-A Albuquerque to start in his place.

Chris Capuano gave up six runs -- five earned -- in five innings Friday in a loss to the Cardinals. Capuano turned in back-to-back strong outings before tonight's stinker against a fine St. Louis offense, so we'll let him off the hook. It wouldn't have mattered much if he had allowed only one or two runs anyway; the Dodger offense wasn't getting anything done in the shutout tonight.

Chris Capuano limited the Braves to one earned run over 7 1/3 innings Saturday in a no-decision. And that one run scored via a two-run homer that Evan Gattis hit off Kenley Jansen in the bottom of the eighth inning. Capuano was fantastic, yielding five hits and no walks while striking out five. He has been excellent in his last two outings and can be trusted again in deeper mixed fantasy leagues (though maybe not for his next start). Capuano will face the red-hot Cardinals on Friday.

Chris Capuano allowed one run on five hits and had seven strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a win Sunday over the Marlins. Capuano was lit up for six runs in his return from the DL, but he took advantage of pitching against the weak-hitting Marlins. The seven strikeouts is more an indictment on Miami's lineup than it is a sign of things to come from Capuano. His only mistake came on a sole home run to Justin Ruggiano in the sixth inning. Capuano's next start will come on Saturday vs. the Braves.

Chris Capuano was lit up in his return from the disabled list Monday, giving up six runs - five earned - over just four innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks. Capuano permitted eight hits - including a pair of homers - while walking a pair. The two longballs came in the fifth inning, as the left-hander allowed back-to-back shots to Paul Goldschmidt and Cody Ross before manager Don Mattingly gave him the hook. Capuano then threw a temper tantrum in the dugout, tossing a water cooler and a tray of gum. The southpaw remains someone to monitor in mixed leagues, but with a 10.38 ERA and 2.31 WHIP, he can't be trusted this weekend even against the Marlins.

Dodgers activated LHP Chris Capuano from the 15-day disabled list. He'll get the start on Monday against the Diamondbacks. Capuano has put up an ugly 9.64 ERA and 2.14 WHIP over his three appearances this season but is worth owning in deeper mixed leagues.

Chris Capuano (calf) is expected to return from the disabled list to start on Monday against the Diamondbacks. That would allow Josh Beckett an extra day of rest, pushing him back until Tuesday. Capuano pitched well in his minor league rehab assignment on Wednesday, and experienced no renewed soreness in his injured left calf. With all of the injuries the Dodgers have experienced in the rotation, Capuano has an opportunity to secure a spot for the remainder of the season if he pitches well.
