Beck was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, the Chicago Sun-Times' Daryl Van Schouwen reports.

The 25-year-old righty was not in serious competition for a rotation spot out of camp, so it makes sense to re-assign him so that the other starters can get more work in. Beck should offer organizational rotation depth this season, but he will be behind at least Erik Johnson in the pecking order.

Beck was placed on the Triple-A DL due to right elbow inflammation, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Beck is dealing with swelling in his throwing elbow, so he'll be shut down briefly to ensure it does not develop into anything more serious.

Beck (0-1) took the loss in his MLB debut Thursday against the Orioles, giving up 10 hits, four walks and five runs (four earned) in six innings. He struck out three. Not exactly a sparkling debut for Beck in the second half of the doubleheader, but then again, his minor league resume didn't suggest that he'd experience instant success in the majors. He'll probably head back down to Triple-A Norfolk soon.

Beck has officially been called up to start the second game of Thursday's doubleheader, Doug Padilla of ESPN Chicago reports. The White Sox announced earlier in the week that Beck would get the call for Game 2, but the team waited until Thursday afternoon to officially make the roster move. Beck will take Scott Carroll's spot on the roster, as the right-hander was optioned back to Triple-A Charlotte.

Beck will be called up to start the second game of Thursday's doubleheader in Baltimore, per manager Robin Ventura. Chris Sale will pitch the afternoon game, while Beck will come up from Triple-A to throw the nightcap. Beck has gone 3-2 with a 3.30 ERA across 46.1 innings (eight starts) this season at Triple-A Charlotte. Thursday will mark the first MLB start of Beck's career.

Beck was sent back to Triple-A Charlotte following the second half of Saturday's doubleheader, CSN Chicago's Dan Hayes reports. He served as the 26th man for the twin-bill, but will now return to Triple-A Charlotte where he will slot back into the rotation.

Beck will be called up to serve as the 26th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Reds. Beck is sitting with a 4.78 ERA through five starts with Triple-A Charlotte this season, but he's been very good with his control, issuing four walks in 26.1 innings. He'll provide some emergency length out of the bullpen in Game 2 with Carlos Rodon set to make his first major league start.

The White Sox assigned Beck to minor league camp Monday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Beck only pitched in four Cactus League games, but he stuck in major league camp for a longer time than previous seasons. He should start the year at Triple-A Charlotte with the opportunity for a late-season recall depending on his performance and the health of the major league rotation.
