De Jong threw six scoreless innings in Triple-A Tacoma's 1-0 win over Reno on Thursday, giving up three hits and three walks while recording seven strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
De Jong had been hit hard in his first three starts since returning from the big-league club, giving up 14 earned runs on 21 hits and two walks in 17 innings across three starts. Therefore, Thursday's effort was a welcome sight and served as his best of the season overall. The 23-year-old right-hander has a 4.32 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, .237 BAA and 34:10 K:BB across 33.1 innings over six starts for the Rainiers.

De Jong was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
De Jong was sent back to Tacoma after putting together another unimpressive start Tuesday, allowing four runs through six innings to bring his ERA to 7.40 on the year (24.1 innings). He also owns a weak 11:11 K:BB. The 23-year-old will head back to Tacoma to try and smooth things out, while Casey Lawrence is set to take his place on the roster. Lawrence and Dillon Overton are both options to start in place of De Jong on Sunday.

De Jong dealt six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four in a no-decision Tuesday against Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
The A's punctured the scoreboard with a pair of runs in the second and fourth innings, but De Jong actually lowered his season's unsightly ERA to 7.40 with Tuesday's effort (four starts and two relief appearances). As a starter this year, the rookie has surrendered 17 runs over 19.2 innings while opposing hitters have battered De Jong to a .321/.385/.549 slash line. He's also served up four home runs while owning a 9:8 K:BB working out of the rotation. De Jong is scheduled to make his next start Sunday versus the White Sox.

De Jong (0-3) allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out just a single batter during Thursday's loss to Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
With a 7.85 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 3.4 K/9, De Jong is proving quickly that he's not ready to start in the majors. He pitched well in Double-A last year (2.86 ERA), but the 23-year-old righty has also only made three career starts at the Triple-A level. It wouldn't be surprising to see him return to Tacoma to build up his confidence and fine-tune his game. If De Jong sticks in the rotation for another start, he lines up to face the Athletics at Safeco Field next week.

De Jong will start Thursday against the Blue Jays, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
De Jong will move up a day to replace Hisashi Iwakuma (shoulder), although he will be on normal rest thanks to Monday's team off day. After a dismal outing against Cleveland in his first career start, De Jong rebounded against Texas last week, tossing six innings of one-run ball with just four hits allowed. For the season, he has six strikeouts to five walks over 13.1 innings.

De Jong didn't factor into the decision against the Rangers on Saturday but gave up just an earned run on four hits over six innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
De Jong had the misfortune of poor run support while he was in there, an issue that happened to correct itself the very next frame after he exited when the Mariners exploded for seven runs. The timing prevented him from notching his first major-league win, but the overall results were nevertheless encouraging. De Jong had been blown up for six earned runs on nine hits and two walks last Sunday against the Indians, firing 73 pitches in just 2.2 innings. He threw just two more Saturday in an efficient six frames, a testament to the degree of improvement he displayed. Given his performance, he should be in line for another start on the road against the Blue Jays next Thursday.

De Jong will start Saturday against the Rangers, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
De Jong was knocked around for six runs in just 2.2 innings against the Indians on Sunday, but the Mariners will give him another opportunity in place of Felix Hernandez (shoulder). If De Jong doesn't improve in his second career major-league start, the team could turn to Rob Whalen the next time through the rotation.

Despite a disastrous outing against the Indians on Sunday, De Jong will make another start in place of Felix Hernandez (shoulder), Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old was rocked over 2.2 innings by a potent Cleveland lineup, but he'll get a clean slate at home against the Rangers on Friday. De Jong's first three big-league appearances have been the diametric opposite of his efforts with Triple-A Tacoma, where he's generated a 1.74 ERA and 10 strikeouts over 10.1 innings in two starts.

De Jong (0-2) took the loss in Sunday's start versus the Indians, allowing six runs on nine hits and two walks across 2.2 innings with one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
De Jong allowed just a solo home run through the first two frames, but he ran into a buzz saw in the third and surrendered five runs before he was pulled with two outs. The righty was called up after Felix Hernandez (shoulder) went on the disabled list and threw four shutout innings in his last appearance, but Sunday's results were far from reassuring. That said, De Jong is scheduled to remain in the rotation and will next take the mound Saturday against the Rangers.

De Jong will start Sunday in Cleveland, the Tacoma News Tribune's Bob Dutton reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was called up as a corresponding move when Felix Hernandez (shoulder inflammation) was placed on the 10-day DL. According to Jon Morosi of FOX Sports, Hernandez is expected to miss at least 2-to-3 weeks with the ailment, so De Jong could be in line for more than just the one start. His 5.58 FIP in two starts this year at Triple-A and 3.68 FIP in 25 starts last year at Double-A suggest there is little upside here. He has also largely failed to produce impressive strikeout rates in the minors, so his time in the big-league rotation will likely be brief.
