Anderson (2-0) allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and one walk across five innings in Monday's win over the Cubs. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson gave up all three runs in the first two innings as the Cubs manufactured offense, but he settled down and left with a one-run lead heading into the sixth. The right-hander allowed more baserunners in this one than he had in his previous two starts -- perhaps a product of the stiff opposition -- but his ability to battle with men on base allowed him to leave with a shiny 1.50 ERA to go along with a WHIP of exactly one. The early returns have been stellar for Anderson, who will look to continue his strong start Saturday against the Cardinals.

Anderson (1-0) struck out seven while allowing just three hits and two walks (one intentional) over seven scoreless innings in a win over Toronto on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
He certainly wasn't the marquee name on the mound in this one -- Marcus Stroman started for Toronto and pitched a complete game -- but Anderson stood out for the second straight start. Now that he's muffled the Rockies in his first start and the Blue Jays in his second, Anderson merits interest in fantasy circles. With Junior Guerra (calf) and Matt Garza (groin) both on the DL, Anderson has been an opportunist, making a strong case for a permanent rotation spot.

Anderson came away with a no-decision Thursday despite allowing only one run on three hits and two walks over six innings in a 2-1 loss to the Rockies. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
He was on the hook for the loss before Kirk Neuwenhuis popped a solo homer in seventh inning, but otherwise is was a very successful first outing of the season for Anderson, who threw 53 of 88 pitches for strikes. The righty will face another dangerous offense in his next start Tuesday in Toronto.

Anderson was named Milwaukee's fourth starter Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson has put on a decent showing this spring and owns a 3.77 ERA after five games (14.1 innings). However, there's plenty of reason to question whether this will carry over to the regular season, as Anderson has yet to finish a season with an ERA below 4.00 and is coming off a year that saw him allow home runs at an alarming clip of 1.7 HR/9.

Anderson owns a 3.77 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 9:4 K:BB in 14.1 innings over five appearances this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson posted a 3.02 ERA in 14 outings after the All-Star break last season and has not experienced much trouble this spring, but he is still not a lock to open the regular season in the Brewers' rotation. Expect a final call on his role to be made soon as the Brewers line up their rotation for Opening Day.

Anderson lost his arbitration case Tuesday and will receive $2.45 million for the 2017 season, FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman reports.
EDGE Analysis
He had been seeking $2.85 million, but the arbiter sided with the Brewers in Anderson's first arbitration case. Anderson is in a complicated position heading into the season, as he underwhelmed somewhat last season (4.39 ERA, 1.37 WHIP), and may soon be passed on the organizational depth chart by some of the Brewers' younger, more exciting arms.

Anderson gave up four runs (three earned) on eight hits over five innings in Texas on Wednesday. He struck out two and walked two while avoiding the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Despite his travails, Anderson actually held a 5-4 lead when he left the game, but the Brewers' bullpen ended up blowing it. Up until this game, he'd been working on a surprisingly excellent September -- a 1.21 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over 22.1 innings spanning four starts -- and actually has posted decent numbers on the whole since late July. However, Anderson's modest strikeout totals, middling control and proneness to the long ball are not good attributes in a fantasy starter.

Anderson (9-11) allowed just one run on four hits and one walk Thursday while striking out six in 5.2 innings of work in a 3-1 win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson has put together a solid September for the Brewers, going 2-2 while ceding just three earned runs on 17 hits in 22.1 innings. He has achieved this by keeping the baseball inside the park and forcing ground balls on almost 47 percent of at-bats, a strong 17 percentage points higher than his ground ball rate for August. He could be a risky play, however, next Wednesday when he faces Cole Hamels and the Rangers on the road.

Anderson didn't factor into the decision on Friday versus the Cubs, giving up two earned runs on five hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson was solid throughout his time on the mound, firing 52 of 85 pitches for strikes and only giving up a two-run homer to Alberto Almora, Jr. in the fifth. The 28-year-old has now only given up Friday's two earned runs over his last three starts, a span of 16.2 innings. He's also yielded no more than three earned runs in any start since June 28, lowering his ERA from 5.45 to 4.47 during that period. Anderson will look to continue his stretch of strong pitching when he takes on the Reds next Friday.

Anderson (8-11) tossed five scoreless innings in Sunday's win over the Pirates, scattering five hits and striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
He got yanked for a pinch hitter after only 65 pitches with the Brewers leading 1-0, but the move paid immediate dividends as Jonathan Villar launched a grand slam in Anderson's place to put the game away. The right-hander hasn't lasted more than six innings in a start since early June, greatly limiting his win potential, and he's unlikely to break that trend in his next outing Saturday in St. Louis.
