Anderson is under consideration to fill Nick Pivetta's (elbow) slot in the rotation, Julian McWilliams and Alex Speier of The Boston Globe report.
EDGE Analysis
The Red Sox placed Pivetta on the 15-day injured list, and the club is hopeful he'll come off the IL when eligible. While he's unavailable, Boston will need a fill-in starter with the currently rostered Anderson and minor-league starter Cooper Criswell under consideration. Anderson has made a pair of long-relief appearances, while Criswell started for Triple-A Worcester on Sunday and would be available to start Saturday, the next time Boston needs a fifth starter.

Anderson allowed two runs on four hits and a walk over three innings Sunday, striking out one batter and earning a save over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
For the second time this month, Anderson secured a three-inning save in a blowout win. Those have also been his only two appearances so far this season. Anderson has produced a 3.00 ERA with a 4:1 K:BB through six innings. He should continue working in a long-relief role.

Anderson picked up the save Monday against the A's, tossing three scoreless innings on one hit and no walks. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson took advantage of the lopsided score, polishing off three scoreless frames with his second-career save. Monday's outing marked the veteran's first with Boston after signing with the team following his release from the Pirates.. Considering the Red Sox have several reliable arms out of the pen -- including closer Kenley Jansen -- Anderson shouldn't be expected to get many high-leverage looks this season.

Anderson signed a major-league contract with the Red Sox on Saturday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson was let go by the Pirates earlier Saturday, and it didn't take long for the 36-year-old righty to latch on with another organization. The Red Sox will be without Liam Hendriks (elbow) and Chris Murphy (elbow), and Cotillo notes that adding Anderson brings experience as a multi-inning reliever to go alongside Josh Winckowski.

The Pirates released Anderson on Saturday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson entered camp as a non-roster invitee and looked sharp with a 2.45 ERA and 0.73 WHIP across 11 innings, but he will ultimately miss out on the team's Opening Day roster. The 36-year-old righty may receive attention in free agency from teams in search of organizational starter depth.

Anderson signed a minor-league contract with the Pirates on Saturday and received an invitation to big-league spring training, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson logged a 5.42 ERA and 1.42 WHIP across 86.1 innings between the Rays and Rockies last season. The 36-year-old right-hander hasn't turned in a season with an ERA below 5.00 since 2019 (4.21), making him an unreliable fantasy option even if he were to make the Pirates' roster out of spring training.

Anderson is no longer scheduled to start Sunday against the Twins, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was penciled in to start the final game of the season for Colorado, but lefty reliever Brent Suter will instead open the contest. It's unclear if Anderson suffered some sort of injury or if manager Bud Black simply decided to go in a different direction. The 35-year-old has a 5.42 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 64:33 K:BB over 86.1 innings this year and will be a free agent this offseason.

Anderson (1-6) picked up the win in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers, allowing five hits and two walks over five scoreless innings in a 4-1 victory, He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson made his first appearance of the season May 3 out of the Tampa Bay bullpen, and he joined the Colorado rotation a couple weeks later after being claimed off waivers. It took the 35-year-old righty 17 starts and 86.1 innings to finally secure his first win of the season, and he waited until the final week to do so. Anderson has pitched well since coming off the IL in early September, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 20:13 K:BB through 25.2 frames, and his worst outing during the month actually came on the road in San Francisco. He should get a chance to double his win total in the Rockies' finale, a home tilt against the Twins on Oct. 1.

Anderson (0-6) took the loss Wednesday as the Rockies fell 3-2 to the Padres, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander has now made 16 starts in 2023, plus two relief appearances, and he's still looking for his first win. Anderson has at least given the Rockies two straight quality starts, and over 20.2 innings since coming off the IL in early September, he's managed a 4.80 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 16:11 K:BB. With Colorado playing seven games in six days during the final week of the season, Anderson could take the mound twice more against the Dodgers and Twins, but both starts would come at Coors Field.

Anderson allowed a run on five walks over seven innings in Friday's win over San Francisco. He struck out seven and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson didn't give up a hit during his seven-inning performance but threw just 53 of 101 pitches for strikes. He coughed up a run in the second inning but followed that by retiring 12 consecutive batters. It was his longest start of the year and he tied his season best with seven punchouts. Despite the terrific start, Anderson still owns a 6.00 ERA with a 57:29 K:BB through 75 frames. He's currently projected to take the mound in San Diego next week.
