Patrick will start Saturday's game against the Phillies, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Patrick was originally expected to work in bulk relief behind Rob Zastryzny on Saturday, but the Brewers ultimately decided to use Patrick as their starter once they saw Bryce Harper (elbow) wouldn't be in Philadelphia's starting nine, per Hogg. Patrick has been a nice find for Milwaukee's rotation this season, turning in a 2.97 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 57.2 innings and most recently firing 4.2 shutout frames with six strikeouts against the Red Sox.

Patrick is expected to serve as a bulk reliever behind opening pitcher Rob Zastryzny in Saturday's game against the Phillies in Philadelphia, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Patrick has started in 11 of his 12 appearances on the season and owns an excellent 2.97 ERA, but he has a 2-4 record to show for it. The Brewers have typically been reluctant to let Patrick work deep into games -- he's covered five-plus innings just five times -- but working as a bulk reliever should boost his chances of coming away with a win if he ends up exiting Saturday's contest with a lead. With the Phillies typically deploying two left-handed bats (Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper or Bryson Stott) in the top three spots in the lineup, the Brewers will likely have the lefty Zastryzny pitch just one inning before he turns the game over to Patrick.

Patrick did not factor into the decision during Monday's 3-2 win over the Red Sox, throwing 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks and striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Patrick departed the game with the Brewers out in front, but did not quite make it the five innings required to qualify for the win. An argument could be made that he deserved better, given that he held his own against Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet in a pitcher's duel. It continues a pattern for the 26-year-old as he has failed to reach five innings in five of his 11 starts, but he hasn't allowed over three runs in a single one all season. By keeping the Brewers in every game he's pitched in, the right-hander, even without a high volume of extended starts, is making a compelling case to stick in the rotation once the team gets healthier. His next scheduled start is on the road against the NL East-leading Phillies.

Patrick didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-4 extra-innings loss to the Orioles, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The seven strikeouts tied the right-hander's season high, but Patrick had trouble putting batters away and got lifted after 89 pitches, with a whopping 27 of his 60 strikes coming on foul balls. He's failed to last five innings in three of his last six starts, a stretch in which he's posted a 3.98 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 25:7 K:BB over 31.2 innings, and that inability to provide the Brewers with consistent length could cost him his rotation spot when the staff gets healthier. Patrick is scheduled to make his next trip to the mound at home early next week against the Red Sox.

Patrick (2-4) took the loss Friday as the Brewers fell 3-0 to the Twins, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
While the right-hander wasn't dominant, managing only six swinging strikes among his 88 pitches (59 total strikes), Patrick delivered his third quality start of the year. Brandon Woodruff (shoulder/ankle), Aaron Civale (hamstring) and Jose Quintana (shoulder) could all come off the IL before the end of the month, while prospect Jacob Misiorowski is knocking loudly on the door at Triple-A, so Patrick's hold on a rotation spot seems precarious despite a 3.35 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 38:15 K:BB through 48.1 innings this season. He's currently scheduled to make his next trip to the mound on the road next week in Pittsburgh.

Patrick did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 4-2 win against the Rays, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Patrick was handed a 3-2 lead in the top of the fifth inning but was unable to complete the frame and earn the win after allowing a double and walk. He generated 11 swinging strikes on 81 pitches and has now allowed three earned runs or fewer in all eight of his starts this season. He'll carry a 3.19 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 36:14 K:BB across 42.1 innings into a home matchup with the Twins next weekend.

Patrick (2-3) got the win over the Astros on Tuesday, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six in 6.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Patrick was one out away from completing seven scoreless but couldn't quite seal the deal after serving up a three-run homer to Brendan Rodgers for his final batter of the evening. The Brewers were able to hang on for a 4-3 win, awarding Patrick his first win since April 6. The 26-year-old posted his longest outing of the season and has been a huge fill-in to the Brewers' injury-depleted rotation. Patrick is currently slated to start next week in Cleveland but could get bumped up to pitch Sunday in Tampa Bay if the team opts to give Freddy Peralta (groin) some additional rest.

Patrick (1-3) was charged with the loss against the White Sox on Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out four over 5.2 innings. He did not issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Patrick gave up a run in the first inning, but he steadied himself to toss four straight scoreless frames. He recorded the first two outs of the sixth inning, but he was lifted after giving up two consecutive singles and was tagged for two runs after Miguel Vargas took Craig Yoho deep for a three-run home run. Patrick has lost three-straight starts, but he hasn't yielded more than three earned runs in each of his seven outings this season. He's up to a 2.87 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 31.1 innings, but Patrick will likely lose his spot in the Brewers' rotation next week if Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) is activated from the 15-day injured list.

Patrick (1-2) took the loss against the Cardinals on Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two in 4.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Patrick retired nine of the first 11 batters he faced, but his shutout efforts ended in the fourth inning on a Nolan Gorman sacrifice fly, and Patrick was tagged for another run after being lifted in the fifth. Patrick hasn't given up more than two earned runs in any of his five starts this season and has a 2.45 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 22:11 K:BB across 25.2 innings. Patrick is tentatively slated to start against the White Sox next week, though it's unclear whether he will get another turn in the Brewers' rotation after Tobias Myers was activated from the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Patrick (1-1) was charged with the loss Saturday against the A's after he allowed two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and no walks across six innings.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander generated 16 swinging strikes on 94 pitches but was unable to avoid the loss column since Milwaukee's offense tallied just one run. It was the first quality start of the season for Patrick, who now has a 1.27 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB in four starts since entering the rotation. Tobias Myers (oblique) is expected back from the injured list this week, but Patrick has likely pitched well enough to retain his rotation spot, especially since the Brewers still have a few other starters on the shelf.
