David Dahl, Carlos Gonzalez Out on Saturday rotoballer.com Sat 9/15/18 6:24 PM

Colorado Rockies outfielders David Dahl (rest) and Carlos Gonzalez (rest) are out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants. The Rockies are facing Madison Bumgarner, so Dahl and Gonzalez will sit out against the lefty starter. Matt Holliday will bat fifth and play left field, while Noel Cuevas will bat seventh and play right field versus MadBum. Neither player is worth a look in DFS contests on Saturday.

Carlos Gonzalez is Back in the Lineup on Tuesday rotoballer.com Tue 9/11/18 6:46 PM

Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Gonzalez has sat out the last two games, but will return to the lineup against Zack Greinke. Gonzalez is hitting .314/.352/.667 with five home runs and seven RBI off Greinke in his career. He'll bat sixth and play right field on Tuesday. Gonzalez should be a reliable option for Tuesday's DFS contests.

Carlos Gonzalez is Sitting Out on Monday rotoballer.com Mon 9/10/18 6:23 PM

Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. This is the second straight game that Gonzalez has not started. David Dahl will play right field and bat cleanup versus righty Zack Godley. Dahl is a great fantasy option against the D-Backs on Monday. He's hitting .299/.364/.547 with six home runs and 18 RBI off right-handed pitching this season.

The Cut List (Week 19): Time to Let Go? rotoballer.com Sun 8/5/18 4:00 AM

Welcome to Week 19 of the Cut List. Special thanks to Kyle Bishop for filling in for me last week while I was out of town on vacation in northern Minnesota. His cut suggestions were pretty much fantastic. This week I'm taking a look at Cesar Hernandez, Matt Kemp, Asdrubal Cabrera, and Tim Anderson. All four of these guys should be cut in most shallow standard formats. Don't hesitate dropping them for a surging bat or a hot arm. Playoff time is approaching and you need to shed dead assets and[...]

Carlos Gonzalez Still Loves July rotoballer.com Sat 7/28/18 11:17 AM

In his career, Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez has hit for a higher batting average in July than in any other month. It's the only month he's cracked .300, and in 2018, he's putting that weak number to shame. After a three-hit game against Oakland on Friday night, CarGo is now hitting .333 with five home runs, 16 RBI, and 18 runs scored in the month of July. The 32-year-old clearly isn't the same player who put up a 26/21 season five years ago, but he's showing he's not quite ready [...]

Statcast Hitter Risers/Fallers - BA vs Defensive Shifts (Week 17) rotoballer.com Mon 7/23/18 4:00 AM

Defensive shifts have become a controversial topic, believe it or not, as some people actually contend it is "ruining the game." Recently fired skipper Mike Matheny was in that camp and may have been given the axe in part due to his unwillingness to embrace analytics or any of the changes in modern baseball. Given that this is a series about Statcast numbers appearing on a fantasy baseball site, it's pretty obvious which side of the fence we're on. Like it or not, the shift is here to stay and [...]

Stat Scouting - Deep-League Hitting Prospects to Target at the Dead... rotoballer.com Sat 7/21/18 4:30 AM

Imagine this scenario: you are an owner who plays in a dynasty league, but all the known prospects have been already taken.  No Francisco Mejia, no Brendan Rodgers, and no Bo Bichette.  Your team sits in the rebuild section of the standings and now is an excellent time to start flipping those assets for the future.  And yet, when most of the big names are owned, it is hard to get fair value back for known quantities. Other owners can be stubborn, and the need to add future talent is already h[...]

Power Risers/Fallers for Week 16: Buy or Sell? rotoballer.com Thu 7/19/18 3:30 AM

Welcome to Week 16 of the 2018 MLB season and a new week of our investigation into the steepest power trenders in baseball, whether those trends are positive or negative. As the season has already hit the All-Star Break, the window of opportunity to snag a surging slugger or to deal a down-and-out disappointment grows shorter with every plate appearance. Getting the jump on identifying the catalytic variables and telling trends in these player's recent offensive performances could be the key [...]

The Cut List (Week 16): Time to Move On? rotoballer.com Sun 7/15/18 4:00 AM

Welcome to Week 16 of the Cut List. This week I'm taking a look at Eric Hosmer, Brandon Crawford, Marcell Ozuna, and Yangervis Solarte. All of these guys have been viable standard league options at one point or another this year, but have recently hit cold streaks that have hampered their fantasy value. Sure, Eric Hosmer and Marcell Ozuna are bonafide fantasy studs, but Brandon Crawford and Yangervis Solarte aren't too far behind them. I suggest cutting each of these guys in 10-team leagues,[...]

Week 16 Waiver Wire Watch List rotoballer.com Sat 7/14/18 3:45 AM

The all-star break is almost here, which means we're getting ever so close to the MLB trade deadline and, of course, the fantasy trade deadline. The waiver wire can play just as important a role, too. Whether you're unable to strike a deal or need to backfill your roster after completing a two-for-one trade, it's critical to do your homework for potential options that you can pick up at a moment's notice. And there's no shortage of intriguing names out there. Here is this week's waiver wir[...]
