Estevez (elbow) was sent to Triple-A Albuquerque for a rehab assignment Sunday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez missed the start of the season with an oblique injury and then was shut down in April after suffered an elbow strain while rehabbing. He appears to be nearing a return to action.

Estevez (elbow) threw a simulated game Monday, Nick Groke of The Athletic Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rockies are going to wait two days before reevaluated Estevez, and if everything checks out OK he could be cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment later in the week. The right-hander has been sidelined all season, so he'll likely need a full rehab assignment before rejoining the big-league bullpen.

Estevez (elbow) hopes to resume playing catch soon, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The hard-throwing right-hander was placed on the 60-day disabled list in April due to a strained UCL, but it seems like he's recovering nicely from the injury. Estevez was recently in Denver with the team getting evaluated by the Rockies' trainers, and it doesn't seem like any bad news came from the visit. Given that he hasn't resumed playing catch yet, he still seems to be at least a few weeks away from a full return to action.

Estevez (oblique) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Interestingly, the injury listed after Estevez's name in the roster transaction was an elbow strain. The right-hander missed the beginning of the season due to an oblique injury, so it's unclear if he picked up this new injury on his rehab assignment or what. He'll be unavailable to return until late May now. Harrison Musgrave will take his place on the 40-man roster for the time being.

Estevez (oblique) threw 22 pitches in two-thirds of an inning in his most recent rehab appearance with Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
He did manage to strike out one batter, but this was overall a lackluster appearance for the hard-throwing righty. Estevez only threw 10 of his 22 offerings for strikes and fell behind all but one of the hitters he faced. It seems like he's pretty healthy at this point, but the results may be the thing keeping him on a rehab assignment at this point.

Estevez (oblique) navigated a scoreless inning with Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday, striking out one.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander looked sharp during the rehab outing, requiring just nine pitches to complete the frame and throwing seven of those offerings for strikes. Estevez appears to be nearing a return to the Rockies' bullpen, though he may make a couple more rehab appearances before being activated from the disabled list.

Estevez (oblique) hopes to partake in simulated games this week, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It seems like the right-hander is ramping up his activity at a good pace. The plan is for Estevez to embark on a minor-league rehab assignment shortly after the sim games, though no firm timetable for that has been announced yet.

Estevez (oblique) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
We already knew he'd open the year on the DL, but the Rockies made it official on Opening Day. Once healthy, Estevez should serve as a middle reliever.

Estevez (oblique) will be placed on the disabled list to start the regular season, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The young right-hander was already prepared to miss the first few games, but this move will ultimately allow the team to keep a fresh arm on the roster in his stead. No word has come forth as to how soon he'll be back in action. This will open the door for Scott Oberg and Antonio Senzatela to start the season in the major-league bullpen.

Estevez (oblique) will not be ready for Opening Day after experiencing a setback in his rehab program, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The young reliever tweaked his oblique back in February, but he still hasn't been able to ramp up his throwing enough to return to game action. He still doesn't expect to be out for an extended period of time, but no firm timetable for his return has emerged at this point. Scott Oberg, Jairo Diaz and Zac Rosscup could see more innings out of the bullpen while Estevez is sidelined.
