Estevez allowed a run on two hits in the ninth inning of Thursday's game against the Phillies, but he escaped with the save. He struck out one batter.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez was close to giving the game back after the Rockies took the lead against Phillies closer Ian Kennedy the prior half inning. He ultimately pitched out of a second-and-third, one-out situation with the lead still intact. Estevez has now given up at least one run in each of his last three appearances, but with only one blown save in that span, he's been getting the job done more often than not since Daniel Bard was removed from the closer picture.

Estevez (2-4) took the loss Wednesday versus San Francisco after allowing four runs on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts in two-thirds of an inning.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez allowed five of the seven batters he faced to reach base, and San Francisco scored on a two-run single by LaMonte Wade and a two-run double by Evan Longoria. It's a rare misstep for Estevez, who had converted three saves in five outings since taking over as the full-time closer. He now has a 4.59 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 53:18 K:BB across 51 innings while adding five saves, five blown saves and 15 holds in 53 outings. Colorado's closer situation remains somewhat fluid, but one poor outing isn't likely to cost Estevez just yet.

Estevez allowed one run on a hit and no walks while striking out one in one inning to earn the save in Saturday's win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Saturday's outing marked the first time Estevez gave up a run since July 28, but he still preserved the lead to pick up his third save in his last five outings. The right-hander has taken on ninth-inning duties recently since Daniel Bard was removed due to struggles, and he's performed well in high-leverage situations.

Estevez earned the save against Atlanta with a perfect ninth inning Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez made very quick work of the three batters he faced, needing only four pitches to retire the side in order. He hasn't allowed an earned run in 14 straight outings dating back to July 31, registering six holds and two saves over that span. Given Daniel Bard's recent struggles, Estevez could be given all or most of the team's save opportunities for the remainder of the campaign.

Estevez appears to have taken over as Colorado's closer after Daniel Bard was removed from the role, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez picked up his third save of the season Friday while Bard pitched the eighth inning, and manager Bud Black confirmed after the contest that Bard was no longer the closer. Estevez wasn't officially named the replacement, but he's the logical candidate given he secured the save Friday and hasn't allowed a run in his past 11 appearances. He has a 4.08 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 47:16 K:BB over 46.1 innings for the season but has pitched better since the All-Star break.

Estevez earned the save against the Dodgers on Friday, pitching a scoreless ninth inning during which he gave up one hit and struck out three batters.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander entered the contest with two saves on the campaign, but his last save conversion had come way back on May 24 against the Mets. Estevez allowed a leadoff single to Mookie Betts on Friday but proceeded to strike out the next three batters to slam the door on Los Angeles. Daniel Bard, who has been the Rockies' closer for most of the campaign but has struggled of late, pitched the eighth inning, suggesting that he may have lost hold of the team's ninth-inning role. If that is the case, Estevez figures to be first in line for save chances as he now has three of Colorado's non-Bard saves this season.

Estevez (2-3) suffered the loss Wednesday against the Angels after allowing a run on two hits and a walk while striking out one over an inning.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez entered to begin the bottom half of eighth trying to preserve a 7-7 tie but was unable to do so. He allowed men to reach first and second before surrendering an RBI single to Phil Gosselin to put the Angels in front. That run would prove to be the difference, handing Estevez his second loss in four days. The 28-year-old owns a 5.35 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 35:12 K:BB over 35.1 innings this season.

Estevez (2-2) was tagged with the loss in relief Sunday against the Dodgers after allowing one run on two hits across one inning.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez hurled the eighth inning and was credited with the loss after allowing the decisive run of the game on a solo homer from star catcher Will Smith. Estevez has now allowed at least one run in three of his last five relief appearances and owns a 6.00 ERA across nine appearances this month.

Estevez (2-0) allowed an unearned run and walked two in one inning, but he earned the win Wednesday versus San Diego.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old yielded the game-tying run on a Trent Grisham sacrifice fly after Wil Myers reached on an error in the ninth inning. While the right-hander took the blown save, Charlie Blackmon's walkoff single in the bottom of the ninth gave Estevez the win. Estevez had a streak of 11.1 innings without walking a batter, but he's now yielded four free passes in his last three innings. He has a 3.86 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 19:8 K:BB, two saves and three holds across 18.2 innings.

Estevez (1-0) earned the win in relief Tuesday against the Padres after tossing a scoreless inning, walking one and fanning one.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez pitched the seventh inning and while his command wasn't entirely sharp -- eight strikes out of 15 pitches -- he still got the job done and posted a scoreless outing. He's accomplished that feat in just three of his last six appearances, though, so the right-hander has been far from a reliable presence off the bullpen for the Rockies.
