Maybin is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Maybin will get the afternoon off following six consecutive starts in right field. The speedy outfielder continues to produce in his age-31 season, as he's slashing an impressive .321/.387/.429 early in the year. Braxton Lee is set to make his first major-league start in Maybin's absence.

Maybin is not a fixture in the lineup against the Cubs on Friday, Mark Gonzales of The Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
For the second straight day, Maybin will be occupying a spot on the bench while Garrett Cooper earns the start in right field. There's a chance that the outfielder is dealing with a hip injury that caused him to exit a spring game last week, but the club hasn't revealed anything and he was able to join Thursday's game as a pinch hitter, smacking a double during the fourth inning.

Maybin is out of Thursday's lineup against the Cubs, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is an early surprise on Opening Day, as it seemed Maybin would get all the playing time he could handle for the Marlins. He dealt with a hip issue last week, so perhaps that is still lingering, although nothing has been reported. Derek Dietrich is starting in left field, Lewis Brinson in center and Garrett Cooper in right.

Maybin (hip) is listed at the right fielder for Saturday's game against the Nationals, Andre Fernandez of The Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Maybin was scratched from Thursday's game due to right hip tightness but was able to complete a full workout Friday afternoon. He should be fully operational heading into this weekend, so don't expect him to miss any time once the regular season begins.

Maybin was removed from Thursday's lineup due to right hip tightness, Andre Fernandez of The Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Maybin was replaced by J.B. Shuck in the lineup. There has been no word from the club besides Maybin's removal from the starting nine, so consider him day-to-day moving forward. With Opening Day just a week away, this could potentially impact his availability depending on the severity of this injury, though it seems unlikely that he will miss an extended period of time. Expect an update on his status in the near future.

Maybin (Achilles) will start in right field and bat sixth in the Marlins' Grapefruit League lineup Monday against the Astros, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Marlins held Maybin out of their lineups the past two days while he managed a sore left Achilles' tendon, but the issue was always considered minor. Maybin's return to action in the field Monday supports the notion the Marlins aren't concerned about the injury, so he looks on track to enter the season at full strength. With Martin Prado (knee) likely in line to open the season on the 10-day disabled list, Maybin should handle an everyday role in right field to kick off his age-31 campaign.

Maybin was scratched from Saturday's game with left Achilles soreness, but is expected back in action Monday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team will hold him out through the weekend as a precaution, and while this is a situation worth keeping an eye on, the fact he is expected back Monday makes it seem like a very minor issue. Maybin found a perfect landing spot in free agency, as he should have no trouble getting everyday at-bats as long as he's healthy this season. The lowest number of stolen bases he has tallied in a season where he played at least 100 games was 23 back in 2015, and he has topped 30 on two occasions, including last season.

Maybin has signed with the Marlins, Tim Healey of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Marlins' lack of major-league ready outfield depth opened the door for a reunion with Maybin, who was previously in the organization from 2008-2010 after being a cornerstone in the trade that sent Miguel Cabrera to the Tigers. At the very least, Maybin will platoon with Derek Dietrich in left field, but he should have an opportunity to play on a near-everyday basis if he can recover from a disappointing 2017 between Anaheim and Houston. Most of the interest in Maybin for fantasy purposes should be centered around his speed, as he went 33-for-41 on the basepaths last season despite appearing in just 114 games.

Maybin is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Maybin will ride the pine for the second time in three games, as manager A.J. Hinch goes with an outfield consisting of Marwin Gonzalez, Tony Kemp and George Springer (from left to right). While Maybin had a good game Tuesday, he's struggled mightily throughout most of September and may very well have played his way out of a postseason starting role.

Maybin went 2-for-4 with three runs, a triple, a homer, three RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Maybin did a little bit of everything in the Astros' 14-3 rout of the Rangers. The 30-year-old came home on a triple and an error in his fifth inning "little-league home run" before blasting a more traditional three-run homer in the sixth. The speedy outfielder is hitting just .130 since being acquired by the Astros at the Aug. 31 deadline, but may be heating up at an opportune time as the A.L. West champs head into the postseason as legitimate title contenders.
