Schlittler (1-2) took the loss against Miami on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six batters over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Schlittler was torched by fellow rookie Agustin Ramirez, as the Marlins' backstop tagged New York's starter for a pair of solo home runs. Schlittler was fine outside of those long balls, recording 10 whiffs and six punchouts over five frames, but the Yankees weren't able to put any runs on the board to support him. Schlittler has been decent but not spectacular since getting called up in early July, giving up two or three runs in each of his four starts but failing to go beyond 5.1 frames in any of those outings. He's tallied 21 punchouts across 19.2 innings but has also issued 11 walks. Though Luis Gil (lat) is scheduled to make his season debut Sunday, Schlittler got some rotation security when Marcus Stroman was released Friday.

Schlittler (1-1) took the loss Monday against the Rays, conceding three runs on seven hits and four walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The New York rookie stumbled out the gate, as Junior Caminero cracked a two-run blast in the opening frame. Schlittler then found a groove with three scoreless frames before conceding another run on a Josh Lowe single in the fifth. Through 14.2 total innings, the 24-year-old sports a 4.91 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 15:9 K:BB with three home runs allowed. Schlittler's future in the Yankees rotation is uncertain because Luis Gil (lat) is expected to return after making his final rehab start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

Schlittler didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Toronto, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Schlittler was able to complete five frames in his second straight start to begin his major-league career. Additionally, the rookie right-hander touched 99 mph with his fastball four times while inducing a respectable nine whiffs. It's unknown if he'll stay in New York's rotation once Luis Gil (lat) is ready to come off his rehab assignment, but Schlittler's next start is tentatively projected for next week at home versus the Rays.

Schlittler (arm) said he felt good after Saturday's bullpen session and is scheduled to start Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was originally scheduled to start Friday's second-half opener against Atlanta, but he was pushed back due to arm soreness. Schlittler didn't have any issues during the bullpen session, clearing the way for him to rejoin the starting rotation in Toronto. The 24-year-old gave up three earned runs with a 7:2 K:BB over 5.1 frames in his major-league debut July 9 versus Seattle.

Manager Aaron Boone said Friday that Schlittler has been dealing with upper arm soreness, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schlittler was originally supposed to start Friday's game against Atlanta, but the Yankees will now push back his first start of the second half. Imaging on the 24-year-old's arm came back negative, so he should be able to avoid a trip to the injured list and will likely take the mound sometime during New York's upcoming series in Toronto.

Schlittler (1-0) picked up the win Wednesday, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in a 9-6 victory over the Mariners. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Promoted from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre earlier in the day for his major-league debut, Schlittler generated 26 called or swinging strikes among his 75 pitches (52 total strikes) in a solid effort, although three of the four hits off him went for extra bases, including homers by J.P. Crawford and Jorge Polanco. Schlittler pitched well enough to earn another turn or two through the rotation on the other side of the All-Star break, but the 24-year-old righty's time in the majors figures to be brief regardless of how he performs, as Luis Gil (lat) could be ready for his season debut by the end of July.
