Quantrill (1-2) took the loss Monday, coughing up five runs on eight hits and two walks over 3.1 innings as the Guardians fell 6-0 to the Rockies. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
A Jurickson Profar solo shot in the first inning set the tone for the evening, and Quantrill got chased in the fourth after giving up four singles and two walks to the first seven hitters he faced in the frame. It's not clear if the leg bruise he suffered in his prior start after a line drive comebacker had any impact on his poor performance, but the right-hander will take a 5.40 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 15:8 K:BB through 25 innings into his next outing, likely to come this weekend in Boston.

Quantrill (leg) is listed as the Guardians' probable starting pitcher for Monday's game against the Rockies at Progressive Field.
EDGE Analysis
Quantrill was lifted after tossing a season-low 83 pitches in his last outing Wednesday against the Tigers when he was struck on the leg by a line drive while recording the final out of the bottom of the sixth inning, but his early exit looks to have been mostly precautionary. While the Guardians haven't formally confirmed that the right-hander completed a between-starts bullpen session without issue, Quantrill's inclusion on the pitching schedule for the series with the Rockies suggests he's good to go. He'll tentatively line up for a two-start week, with his second turn expected to come next Sunday in Boston.

Quantrill moved to 1-1 after striking out four over six scoreless innings in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Tigers, but he exited the game after being hit in the leg by a line drive, the Associated Press reports. He scattered four hits and one walk in the 83-pitch outing.
EDGE Analysis
With two outs and runners on first and third base in the bottom of the sixth, Tigers right fielder Kerry Carpenter sent a line drive back up the middle right at Quantrill, but the pitcher was able to field the ball off his leg and throw to first to record the final out of the inning. Quantrill's knee appeared to buckle when he attempted to stand up after making the play, but he was ultimately able to walk off the field under his own power. However, given that Quantrill had thrown no fewer than 89 pitches in any of his prior three starts and was working on a shutout, the Guardians evidently had some level of concern about his injury. Until Cleveland provides another update on his condition, Quantrill should be considered day-to-day ahead of his next scheduled start, which will likely fall next week versus the Rockies at Progressive Field.

Quantrill gave up three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three in six innings Friday against the Nationals. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
This was Quantrill's best start of the season. He's still searching for his first win and he has not fanned more than three batters in a start yet. His 12 percent strikeout rate on the year would be easily a career worst -- his previous career low was his 16.6 percent strikeout rate from 2022.

Quantrill (0-1) took the loss Saturday as the Guardians were downed 3-2 by the Mariners. He gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings and struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
All the damage off Quantrill came in the first two innings, and while he settled down after that, Cleveland's bats couldn't climb out of the hole. The right-hander threw 59 of 93 pitches for strikes before exiting, and he'll look to get in the win column in his next outing, likely to come next weekend on the road against the Nationals.

Quantrill did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks over 4.2 innings during a win over the Mariners. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Quantrill worked exclusively as a starter last season for the first time in his career, and he posted a 3.38 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over 32 starts. He had a 16.6 percent strikeout rate that ranked second-worst among qualified pitchers, but it was encouraging to see him limit runs while generating a 15-5 record. Although Quantrill gave up five runs Sunday, he was able to settle for a no-decision in a game that lasted 10 innings. Following Sunday's lackluster outing, the right-hander tentatively lines up for a rematch against the Mariners at home Saturday.

Quantrill threw 5.2 hitless innings, allowing one walk and striking out five in Thursday's Cactus League win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Quantrill set down 17 straight Giants to start the game, then walked the last batter he faced. This was a new level of dominance for Quantrill in what's been a challenging spring -- he has a 5.25 ERA and 10:3 K:BB across 12 innings over four starts. Despite the struggles, he's a lock for the Guardians' rotation to open the season, and his ability to maintain a good ERA and absorb innings gives him some appeal in fantasy.

Quantrill worked to refine his curveball and add a splitter to his arsenal during the offseason, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quantrill's search for new and revised pitches comes from the fact that he doesn't often boast swing-and-miss stuff. His 6.2 K/9 last season was the lowest of his career, though his 3.38 ERA and 1.21 WHIP were perfectly fine as a middle-of-the-rotation starter. It's unclear how much the right-hander will bump up his curveball usage -- he threw it around four percent of the time in 2022, and he's still workshopping the splitter in spring training. In fantasy, Quantrill will again likely stabilize ratios without adding much to the strikeout total.

Quantrill and the Guardians agreed on a one-year, $5.55 million contract Friday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quantrill and the organization will avoid arbitration after being able to strike a deal Friday. The right-hander is coming off a strong season in 2022, posting a 3.38 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 128 punchouts over 186.1 innings in 32 starts with Cleveland.

Quantrill (15-5) earned the win Tuesday over Kansas City, striking out four in five innings while allowing a run on four hits.
EDGE Analysis
Quantrill scattered two singles over the first four innings Tuesday, holding the Royals scoreless. After retiring the first two batters in the fifth, he gave up consecutive hits and a run came around to score. The righty allowed one run in each of his last three starts, lowering his ERA for the season to 3.38. He is likely to get the start in Game 3 of the AL Wild Card series if that game is necessary.
