Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said that Quantrill dealt with a cramp in his left hamstring during Tuesday's start against the Phillies, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quantrill was seen grabbing at his hamstring after the Marlins recorded the final out in the top of the fourth inning. He came back out for the fifth but was pulled after hitting a batter and giving up a double. Quantrill had thrown only 74 pitches and allowed just one run to that point, although he was charged with an additional two runs after exiting. It's not clear how much the right-hander's cramping factored into McCullough's decision to remove the hurler, but the manager expects Quantrill to be ready to go for his next scheduled outing Tuesday in San Francisco.

Quantrill came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Phillies, giving up three runs on four hits over four-plus innings. He struck out two without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander retired the first nine batters he faced, but things began to fall apart for Quantrill when he served up a solo shot to Trea Turner to lead off the fourth inning. After plunking Otto Kemp with a pitch and giving up a loud double to Brandon Marsh lead off the fifth, Quantrill got the hook after 74 pitches (42 strikes). He had yet to last more than five innings in a start this season, but the 30-year-old has been relatively effective since the beginning of May, allowing three earned runs or fewer in eight straight outings while posting a 3.93 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 32:9 K:BB in 36.2 innings. Quantrill will look for his first win since May 18 in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in San Francisco.

Quantrill (3-7) took the loss Wednesday, giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks over five innings as the Marlins were downed 5-2 by the Pirates. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
It's the first time since April 30 that the right-hander has been tagged for more than three runs. Quantrill has found a few more whiffs lately, recording at least six strikeouts in four of his last seven trips to the mound while posting a 3.58 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB in 32.2 innings over that span. With Ryan Weathers (lat) back on the 60-day IL, Quantrill's rotation spot seems secure heading into his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Phillies.

Quantrill (3-6) took the loss Wednesday as the Marlins fell 3-2 to the Rockies, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander allowed three runs or fewer for the sixth straight outing, a stretch in which Quantrill has delivered a 3.25 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB over 27.2 innings, but he has just one win to show for it due to a combination of poor run support and the fact that he hasn't worked more than five innings in any of those starts. Quantrill's rotation spot looked like it might be in jeopardy with Eury Perez (elbow) poised to make his 2025 debut Monday, but a hip injury for Max Meyer bought him a reprieve. Quantrill will look to stay stingy in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road next week in Pittsburgh.

Quantrill (3-5) picked up the loss Friday after throwing five innings, surrendering two runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out seven in the 2-0 loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Quantrill pitched well on Friday, but needed to be perfect to avoid the loss since the Marlins offense didn't give him any help. The 30-year-old has been unable to find a way to get consistently deep into ballgames this season, recording an out in the sixth inning just once in his 11 starts. Regardless, he's given the Marlins a chance to win games, especially lately. The right-hander has allowed just four runs over his last three starts spanning 13.1 innings (2.70 ERA) while picking up 15 strikeouts as well.

Quantrill allowed a run on three hits and struck out two without walking a batter over 3.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Quantrill threw just 46 pitches (31 strikes) before getting pulled when he ran into trouble in the fourth inning. There was no reported injury after the game, so this currently appears to be just a curious managerial decision. Quantrill has allowed just one run in three of his last four starts, but he hasn't logged more than five innings in any of those outings. He's now at a 6.09 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 31:15 K:BB across 44.1 innings over 10 starts this season. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Giants.

Quantrill (3-4) earned the win Sunday against the Rays, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Quantrill matched a season high with his six punchouts, last achieved against the Dodgers on May 6. He stymied the Tampa Bay lineup, not allowing an extra-base hit and conceding a lone run on a Yandy Diaz groundout in the third. After pitching to an 8.10 ERA across his first 26.2 innings, Quantrill been sharper over his last three appearances, firing a 3.14 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB over 14.1 innings. He is currently slated to make his next start at the Angels next weekend.

Quantrill (2-4) took the loss Monday against the Cubs, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks over 4.1 innings with one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
The Miami right-hander was cruising through four scoreless innings before unraveling in the fifth during this 83-pitch effort. In the fifth frame, Quantrill conceded three runs on three hits, including a Dansby Swanson two-run long ball. Across 36 total innings, Quantrill has pitched to an unsightly 7.00 ERA and 1.72 WHIP while failing to earn a quality start in any of his eight outings. He currently lines up to make his next start against the Cubs again but at home next week.

Quantrill came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Dodgers, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
After getting tagged for 15 runs in 12.2 innings over his prior three starts, Quantrill bounced back in impressive fashion. The right-hander didn't allow a runner to get into scoring position after the first inning, leaving the mound after tossing 53 of 79 pitches for strikes. He'll carry a 7.11 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 22:11 K:BB through 31.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road early next week against the Cubs.

Quantrill (2-3) took the loss Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk across 3.2 innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
After pitching a clean first inning, Quantrill gave up a two-run, solo homer to Max Muncy in the second before the Dodgers tacked on three more runs in the third. The 30-year-old Quantrill has given up four or more runs in four of his first six starts this season. His ERA is up to 8.10 with a 1.80 WHIP and 16:10 K:BB through 26.2 innings.
