Mitchell went 2-for-3 with a solo home run Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell delivered the first home run of his career in the fifth inning by taking Zac Gallen yard. He has started regularly since having his contract selected May 24, collecting eight hits -- four for extra bases -- across 36 at-bats. The Pirates have called up a number of prospects from the Triple-A Indianapolis in recent weeks, so Mitchell will need to perform to maintain playing time over the likes of Tucupita Marcano and Travis Swaggerty.

Mitchell is not in the lineup Friday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
This is a bit concerning, as Mitchell will sit for the second time in three games with fellow left-handed hitters Tucupita Marcano and Jack Suwinski starting in the outfield corners against righty Merrill Kelly. Mitchell hit safely in his first four games and is hitless in his last three games.

Mitchell is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell started the past six games after being promoted from Triple-A Indianapolis last week, and he'll head to the bench after going 5-for-25 with two doubles, two walks, two RBI, a run and a stolen base. Tucupita Marcano will start in left field, pushing Jack Suwinski to right.

Mitchell went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base Monday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell has started every game since being promoted to the majors May 24, and he has served as the leadoff hitter in two of the team's last three matchups. He didn't have a big performance at the plate Monday, but Mitchell took advantage of reaching base on an error in the ninth inning to steal the first bag of his big-league career. Mitchell has collected five hits in his first 25 at-bats -- including two doubles -- while striking out at a 25.9 percent clip. With both Ben Gamel (hamstring) and Jake Marisnick (thumb) sidelined, Mitchell should continue to get regular playing time in the outfield.

Mitchell will start in right field and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
With Ben Gamel (hamstring) becoming the seventh Pirates position player to go on the injured list Sunday, Mitchell's playing time should be well-insulated for the foreseeable future. Mitchell had already started in each of the Pirates' four games following his call-up from Triple-A Indianapolis, with the 23-year-old outfielder going 5-for-17 with two doubles, a walk and a run over those contests.

Mitchell went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Tuesday against Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell made his big-league debut, starting in right field while hitting eighth. After lining out in his first at-bat, Mitchell drove in Diego Castillo on a single in the fifth inning to collect his first hit in the majors. Mitchell should have the opportunity to earn regular playing time in the outfield, taking plate appearances from Ben Gamel and Jack Suwinski.

The Pirates plan to select Mitchell's contract from Triple-A Indianapolis prior to Tuesday's game against the Rockies, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old corner outfielder isn't one of the Pirates' top prospects, but he could get an everyday role with the big club nonetheless after he produced an impressive .306/.362/.500 slash line with five home runs and six stolen bases across 138 plate appearances. The Pirates may view Mitchell as an upgrade over right fielder Jack Suwinski, who could be demoted in a corresponding move after posting a meager .609 OPS in 82 plate appearances since receiving a call-up from Double-A Altoona in late April.

Mitchell has hit .305/.391/.542 with three home runs, 12 RBI and eight runs scored across 68 plate appearances with Triple-A Indianapolis to begin the 2002 campaign.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell was among a number of outfielders with Indianapolis capable of making a potential impact at the big-league level in 2022. However, he has emerged as the standout of that group, particularly by making a lot of quality contact. He has only a 12.1 percent strikeout rate and has combined that with a .246 ISO -- which has translated to eight extra-base hits across 66 plate appearances. With Travis Swaggerty struggling to produce at the dish, Mitchell could get the next opportunity to upgrade either of the corner outfield spots in Pittsburgh.

Mitchell will be promoted to Triple-A Indianapolis to close out the season, Jarrod Prugar of DK Pittsburgh Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell has been at Double-A Altoona since the start of the season, and he slashed .280/.330/.429 with 12 homers, 61 RBI, 43 runs and six stolen bases. The 22-year-old will match up against the top level of minor-league competition late in the year and could be in the mix for a major-league promotion at some point in 2022.

Mitchell went 5-for-6 -- all singles -- with five RBI and a run scored for Double-A Altoona on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Once considered a bat on the rise, Mitchell lost a lot of his prospect luster after a subpar 2019 that saw him post a .710 OPS alongside 142 strikeouts in High-A. However, he's been a changed man this season, cutting his strikeout rate all the way from 2019's 28.8 percent to just 17.2 percent this season. He's also sitting on a .283/.334/.453 batting line -- the best of his minor-league career. The 22-year-old doesn't look like he's on a fast track to stardom, but he's at least elevated himself from forgotten man to likely future big-league outfielder.
