Hoeing did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks over three innings against St. Louis. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Hoeing managed to get through the first inning unscathed despite allowing a double and two walks on 27 pitches. However, the Cardinals would get to him for five runs in the third, as the right-hander failed to retire five of the first six batters he faced, and he eventually surrendered a two-run blast to Nolan Gorman to top things off. Hoeing has now allowed five or more runs in back-to-back starts, giving up four homers over that stretch.

Hoeing (1-2) yielded seven runs on six hits and two walks over 3.2 innings Friday, striking out one and taking a loss against Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Hoeing stumbled out of the gate, coughing up three runs in the first inning followed by two more in the third. Prior to Friday's brutal outing, he'd allowed only nine earned runs through 35 innings on the year. His ERA shot up from 2.31 to 3.72 as a result. It's unclear if Miami will give him another turn in the rotation or push him back to the bullpen.

Hoeing pitched five scoreless and hitless innings against Pittsburgh on Saturday, allowing three walks and striking out two batters in a no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
Hoeing was a bit wild in issuing three walks and throwing just 36 of 65 pitches for a strike, but the Pirates didn't manage a single hit against him. The right-hander isn't yet fully stretched out as a starter, so he wasn't allowed to challenge for a no-hitter, but he undoubtedly turned some heads with the impressive performance. In two starts as a replacement for the injured Edward Cabrera (shoulder) in the rotation, Hoeing has tossed nine scoreless innings during which he's allowed just three hits. Johnny Cueto (biceps/ankle) could be ready to return to Miami as soon as next week, and it's unclear how that will affect Hoeing's spot in the rotation.

Hoeing is scheduled to start Saturday's game versus the Pirates at LoanDepot Park.
EDGE Analysis
He'll be making his second turn through the rotation as a replacement for Edward Cabrera (shoulder) after striking out five over four scoreless innings while taking a no-decision Monday versus the Blue Jays. Until one of Cabrera, Johnny Cueto (biceps) or Trevor Rogers (biceps/shoulder) is ready to return from the injured list, Hoeing looks poised to stick around as the Marlins' No. 5 starter.

Hoeing did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three hits over four scoreless innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out five and did not record a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Hoeing, who'd been operating out of the bullpen recently, drew a spot start Monday and shut down Toronto's offense through four strong innings. He needed only 54 pitches (36 strikes) to get through four frames, but the right-hander wasn't fully stretched out as a starter, so he didn't come out for the fifth, costing him a chance at a win. Either way, Hoeing presumably did enough to earn at least one more shot in the rotation while Edward Cabrera (shoulder) is on the injured list.

Hoeing is expected to start Monday against the Blue Jays, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander started a couple games after being called up by the Marlins in late April, but he's worked out of the bullpen over the past six weeks and has a 3.12 ERA for the season. Hoeing threw 34 pitches over two frames in his previous outing June 12, so he shouldn't be expected to cover more than three or four innings Monday.

Hoeing (1-1) picked up the win Sunday against the White Sox, striking out one in a perfect eighth inning.
EDGE Analysis
With his team down 5-3, Hoeing got the call and breezed through the middle of the Chicago order on 13 pitches (eight strikes) before Miami struck for three runs in the top of the ninth. The 26-year-old righty has given up an earned run only once in his last 12 appearances, posting a 0.73 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 10:5 K:BB through 12.1 innings over that stretch, but his low-leverage role gives him little fantasy appeal.

Hoeing threw three innings of relief Saturday against the Cubs, giving up one run on three hits and a walk while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
Hoeing was originally scheduled to start the game, so when the Marlins announced it would instead be Matt Barnes on the hill, it looked as though Hoeing was ill or injured. Instead, the change of plans was merely tactical, as Miami elected to go with a bullpen day with Hoeing handling the largest share of the workload. He handled the third through fifth innings capably enough, while six other relievers combined to cover the other five frames.

Hoeing was scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against the Cubs, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Marlins have yet to announce a reason for the change of plans, but it's likely that Hoeing is dealing with some sort of injury or illness. Matt Barnes will be the first pitcher on the hill for Miami in what will presumably be a bullpen game.

Hoeing did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over five innings in a 4-3 victory over the Cubs. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Sunday's start was certainly a step forward for Koenig, who allowed four runs in 3.2 innings in his first outing against Atlanta. He lowered his ERA to 6.23 through 8.2 innings with a 6:3 K:BB. Hoeing looked good in the minors this year, pitching to a 2.08 ERA with 20:2 K:BB in three starts with Triple-A Jacksonville. He should see at least one more turn in the Marlins' rotation with Trevor Rogers (biceps) still shut down from throwing.
